That's what I thought too. But it certainly did come covered in electrolyte. And the battery had a giant puncture hole in it.

I'm pretty sure the battery had the electrolyte in it do to it being already assembled and purchased from the "scratch & dent" section if I remember reading correctly. That's No excuse for the Scooter to come in that condition but is probably the reason why it came in that strange crate w/ battery pre-installed. I recently ordered my first Scoot thru them beginning of April and received it about 10 days later from California to Maine...everything was great except the left rear panel got cracked somehow and think it'll be easier for me to just fix myself instead of going thru the frustration in dealing w/ Customer Service. It's been a week since I requested my MSO and they replied the same day saying they will get it to me ASAP. I do have to say that they always emailed w/ updates on shipping etc and I've had a good order experience so far as long as I get my MSO in a timely manner! I'm sure happy to have found ScootDawg with all the great knowledgeable people here as I'm sure to need some advice probably sooner rather than later! ;D

I have to also warn anybody off if they are thinking of purchasing from powersportsmax. I only wish I would have found this thread before I ordered from them. on 03/18/12 I ordered the MC-D04L 150cc scoooter and it took over two weeks to be delivered. To top it off, their 800 number is out of order and their regular phone ALWAYS puts you on hold then goes to voicemail! Well....I finally did receive my very poorly packaged scooter which had NO padding in the metal frame. Someone must have rammed a forklift into the front of the frame which bent it in an put a nice gouge on the nose of the scooter. The luggage rack bolt holes were mashed and some bolts missing. Had to re-tap the holes and buy bolts. The fuse was "pre-blown" for me, lucky it had a good spare one. And oh yeah, the darn kick-start will not engage the engine. Either something is loose or missing inside, I still need to rip it open and investigate. But it starts okay with the electric start. I learned my lesson about investigating a company before making the leap. Now I have to learn the hard way how to repair the scooter, but like I said, that's my own fault for letting myself get suckered when I do know better!

Glad to hear you got yours so quick Bill. I got my paperwork within a week, faster than I expected. I finally did get an email and a call from one of their "techs" after about 2 weeks from emailing them. Sounds like I'm pretty much on my own in regards to repairing my non-working kick starter. But, for the price I really didn't expect too much to begin with. Don't forget to do your PDI! You'll be glad you did. Good luck, Jim

bms yanked there scoots out of scooter depot. superior only sells 2 brands,,,,,,, znen and bms ...................wise men know why. superior is sometimes a bunch off knockle heads, but they live in this world, the owner does not even look like he would go near a bike. but they will send your bike to a local shop to make you happy if it takes that. my papers where in my bag of extra lights, stuffed in my discounted ff helmet. for me this country has lost its civility and protective space to grow and thrive. no wonder we can no longer compete, we are to busy morphing into barbarians to protect ourselves from each other. I know this is coming late, but dead on social critique TN!

I think the problem is the shipping distance for your scooter to be delivered. If it's from west coast to east coast there's going to be some damage. At the very least it will be unloaded and loaded back on to trucks by forklift at 2 service centers before it'll reach you. This is what happened when I had ordered an electric bicycle from Arizona. However, my motor scooter from evosales had one stop in North Carolina before coming to the service center where I live. It was shipped from Dallas, Texas using Old Dominion Freight. Not a scratch on my I-scooter.

I found out something of interest recently from a dealer. Customs holds up shipments for weeks to months, they cut open every scooter crate and then send them on their way. Perhaps this also affects drop shipped imports esp. from China. The scooters often arrive damaged since Customs does not repair or wrap the crates before releasing the shipment.
