FYI,
Ordered a 2007 Lance Milan on a Monday, delivered 5 business days later on following Monday. As for the MCO, it showed up 2 days later. I recommend for having very responsive correspondence with LanceMotorsports and shipper.
600 miles with no problems except a blown tail lamp at 250. Have not had it in for service yet, no comments.
YMMV, I live down the road from them.

Did you have the bike delivered to Motoretta? If so, did you pay the extra $599 to have them do the PID?

jrsharp21,
Delivered to my garage. I did my own PDI, which also involved crate disposal, and registration(truck scooter to DMV). $600 is a bit much for the PDI, I would've reconsidered if it was $300.

glassvial,
Another way of looking at it is what is your time worth, 6-8 hours PDI, 2 hours registration, and 2 hours S&H for crate. I couldn't justify paying $60 per hour for those services, although $30 or $25 would make it a no brainer for me.
We can also say that if you do the PDI yourself, you gain a wealth of knowledge, something you can't put a price on.

$600 for a PDI? Yow! There's a dealer around here that wanted $200 and I thought that was a bit high, considering he wouldn't take delivery right to their place. Why bother then, if I have to drive to your place, I have to setup the bike anyhow, so might as well save the $200, do it myself and follow Big Guy's PDI.

I agree the $600 for the PDI is a bit much. But I think they also include an extended warranty in that $600.

I also ordered from sfmotoretta.com. I live about 4 hours away from them and they have a storefront, so that was my motivation to buy from them (their prices were the same as everyone else's). I ordered my Lance Venice 150 on May 20th and received it today, June 12. So not as quick as yours but I don't believe that was their fault since this was just a dropship and they had nothing to do with it's delay. FYI, my Venice did NOT come in a metal crate as expected but rather a box with thick cardboard tubes for cross members. Much easier to dispose of... So far so good. sfmotoretta has been slow at times to respond to my emails. I'm still waiting for a response... Did you get your free helmet?? I also didn't order the extra PDI since I felt it would be cheaper to take it to a dealer for repairs than pay the $600.

I also didn't order the extra PDI since I felt it would be cheaper to take it to a dealer for repairs than pay the $600. Delivery of your Venice took a bit longer than I'd expect. I guess we would have to factor in the Memorial Day holiday in the mix, that could have added to the shipping delay. Were they up front with you on the phone regarding delivery times? or did you order it via their website and assumed 14 business days? Hopefully, you were able to get the scooter before the recent price increases. Cardboard box vs. metal crate, any cosmetic damage? Cardboard tubes are much easier to dispose of vs. metal frame with cardboard box, you lucked out. I suggest calling them during normal business, if you can't get through to them with email. The time I spoke with them regarding the MCO, nothing unusual except they misread their paperwork and prematurely told me the MCO was at the shop when it wasn't, it arrived the next day. If you need your MCO expedited try calling or ask if you can fax over your Vin#, so once they receive the MCO, your info will already be stickied. Regarding the free 1/2 helmet, yes I picked it up. It did not ship with the scooter, had to swing by shop for sizing purposes. It's an all right skull cap, has DOT sticker on it and not much else. I suggest getting a better full face for yourself, can't say I trust the freebie entirely. Not worth a 4 hour drive, if you ask me. For that amount of gas and your time, you can get the same thing online(www.motodirect.com) and you'd be saving yourself some dough. See if they can send it to you, when they send your MCO. I apologize for not responding to this thread till now, swamped at work. Perhaps your scooter is fully registered and you are putting miles on it like a mad person already. Still content with my scooter and with where I got it from. YMMV. ---runs
