I wanted to relate my experience in buying my first scooter. I have been a lurker here since October 2007 and joined after the first of the year. I had read and researched several models of scooters and read good and bad stories of dealers. I finally contacted a member here Rerun2 since he had the Metro Turbo Duo I wanted and had dealt with Scootertronics extensively. He answered numerous questions for me before I even contacted Michael at Scootertronics.
I contacted Michael at Scootertronics back in April asking questions about the Meitian Turbo Duo. Michael always got back to me via email with in a day or 2 at the most. Being new to scooters Michael showed alot of patience with my unending questions. After 2 weeks of questions I finally called Michael to order. We nailed down the color.. the modifications I wanted to the scoot after speaking with Rerun2 and payment. Michael was upfront and stated he was 7 scooters behind and would put me in line even before I had completed payment. It took a couple of tries to get payment since my bank card has a limit of 600.00 per transaction. Since I did not know this and it was an out of town sale my bank card was locked down by the bank in case of a fraud attack. OK for me, but Michael did not get the payment. I had to call the bank , recall Michael and ok 2 transactions for the money so he had payment on the scooter. Even with all the additional work and time, thru all of this Michael was patient and cordial. I allowed 2 weeks before I contacted Michael via email about status. Of course I was like a kid at Xmas and apologized for bugging him, but again he was professional and kept me in the loop ( of course during this time I chewed Rerun2's ear off..lol ). Since I had an upcoming out of town trip I was worried about a delay in delivery so the next week I called just for an update. He stated that he had to put in a different clutch setup and it had to be special ordered. It had arrived that morning and he was hoping to have it done and crated by 4pm that day. He sent me an email that afternoon with the shipping information and the scooter was here the next day. The packing job was first rate from cardboard to shrink wrap to bubble wrap to steel frame. Except for 2 very small dings, 1 on the front and 1 on the trunk the scoot was in pristine condition. I immediately named it the Burgundy Beast ( although it is more candy apple red). I called Michael to let him know it arrived in great shape and to give him the vin. He stated he would complete the paperwork and send out the MCO and invoice Monday. With the help of a neighbor who was more excited then me..lol.. we uncrated the beast and attached the mirrors and trunk. I filled it with gas and it started right up. I took just a small spin on it down the block and then parked it in the garage for the week I was gone. While I was gone my MCO arrived that Thursday Priority Mail and this past Tuesday I registered it.
I have had nothing but a positive experience in dealing with Michael at Scootertronics. I thank him for his patience with the questions and payment problems. The quality of his work can be seen in the modifications he did for me.
Hats off to Rerun2 for his patience with my newbie questions, it is people like him that make this forum what it is.
As soon as I figure out how to post pictures (I'm the guy still working on spell check..lol ) I'll get them on here.
