Hello all, I am a new member and just about to buy a new scooter (Vintage 150) but I need to help deciding where to get it from. I've narrowed it down to two vendors:
scootersarecool.com and extremescooters.biz
Does anyone recommend one over the other or recommend to not purchase from one?

I ordered my scooter last Thursday from scootersarecool. It hadn't shipped yet but when i make an inquiry by email I get a fast response. Thats the best I can tell you right now. Wish I could give you more info.

Scooters are cool charges an MCO fee ($45 I think) There are various threads below in this section on each and some on comparing the two.

Sure, I saw all of them but only about 2 people mentioned actually buying one from them--one for each. I was just wondering if someone could straight out say which one. Right now, I'm going with extremescooters.biz.

They're probably the best bang for your buck. Extra PDI; no MCO fee. Let me know how it works out for you, whichever you decide.

I ordered from scootersarecool last monday. They shipped out on Tuesday (holiday added a day in there) and are on the truck heading to Illinois right now. Scheduled to be here on Tuesday, according to the freight company, so two weeks from time of order. I did have a question I asked by email, and they responded the next morning. So far, I'm happy with their service - but I don't have my scoots yet to give a solid review at this time.

Most of the S/F Lance dealers charge that MCO fee. Scootersarecoll is a dealership for ScootersFactory. They are relatively new but seem to be a top notch dealer with good parts supply and fast reponse. Tom

I got my scooter on Friday! 1st color choice too! I took it around the block a few times and it works great! (I couldn't help it) It's raining this weekend so I'm going to change out the fluids and hoses and tweak it a bit.
The idle screw I think is too loose. It starts to die at a stop. Once I give it gas, it goes like a mother!
Anyways, I'm happy with my purchase from extremescooters.biz. The only thing I marginally didn't like was how long the emails too (which wasn't long at all) It was about a 1 day turnaround. Some of the other people I emailed usually responded right away.
I ordered it May 27th and received it June 6.

I doubt the idle screw is 'loose'. More likely you need to adjust it up a tad; very common on new scoots. As it breaks in, the vibration will subside and the idle will smooth out. It is common to have to adjust the high idle several times on a new scooter.

Is the PDI that extremescooters.biz a good one? I saw this and was impressed. I am thinking about maybe ordering from them just because they do the PDI. Besides their PDI, how much more checking and prepping would I have to do myself?

most of these dealers are just drop shippers and never see the bikes no matter who i bought from I would go through the bike myself an afternoon spent going through the bike yourself can save quite a few hours of agravation later and you will feel more familar with your scooter and doing maintenance in the future.

IFOAM - How long did it take for you to receive your MCO? And did you have to request it through their website?

jrsharp21,
I was able to just put gas and run the bike. Like I mentioned, the only problem I see is some loose bolts and the idle adjustment. It came with a paper from lance that had an inspection report. It had some checks. Im guessing its where they test the items on the paper.
I just request the MCO on their site. It says the turn around is usually 1 week. I would take that as accurate as the scooter got here really quick compared to some other sites.
I'm about to go outside and do my own PDI and like einism said, become familiar with it
