Hi I want everyone to know about a on line dealer called County Imports they are in Ca. I had placed an order on the phone with the # that they have posted in their website ti was easy and went well, about 3 Min's. after I got off the phone Jesse form County Imports called to let me know that the order I Just placed color not in stock I chose another color that was OK to get the call and left me feeling good about this place after my money was withdrawn from my account ( I was told that it would arrive in 4-5 days) I checked to look for a tracking # after 4 days and no # so after many calls and emails with no return or response and 5 more days later and no contact and no tracking # I called my bank they are going to refund my account and try to recover the money ( Good Bank ) but best not to do any orders from county Imports stay away from them I went to a local dealer and found a new 2007 150cc Matrix at $1700.00 and know that I have the product I live in Holland Michigan the local dealer is called Team Dumez they are good there.

I too ordered from county imports.
First, I called and ask if the model I wanted was available in the color I wanted. They checked, and said yes. So I ordered over the web.
After that, sales was easy to get a hold of. Support was not. Very true. So far, my order is at estes shipping and they said it will be here on the 30th. (That's 5 days, just like County Imports said)
I think they need to put more focus on customer service and less on sales.
Another thing I noticed. They marked my order as shipped even though estes shipping had not received the order.
It took 1 full week for estes to received the order. During this time, County Imports (AKA County Motorsports) has the order listed as shipped. This is what probably gets people. They probably say, "Great, its shipped, and then wait and wait with no word.
County Imports could do these things better (Are you reading this County Imports?): 1) Hire more support people. Yes, it will cost you more money, but satisfied customers will tell their friends. 2) Update the order status with correct information. Just because you order from your supplier and have them ship it to the customer, dont mark the order as shipped. 3) When someone calls, don't ask their name first before allowing the call through. Feels to me like you are screening your calls. Not very professional. 4) Support. Yes I said it in #1. But your support is non-existent. If someone asks me if I recommend buying from you, I will say the support was the worst feature.
So here I wait. 29th, 30th... somewhere around that date a scooter will arrive.
I will keep you all updated on: 1) Is it the color I ordered. 2) Has it been damaged in shipping. 3) Does it start. 4) How long it takes to get the Certificate of Origin. (It may come with it) But their web site has a request page where I enter the VIN. Dan.

1) Is it the color I ordered. Yes. It was blue just as I ordered. 2) Has it been damaged in shipping. Very minor. Trunk & windshield had scratches. (windshield was near mounting edge, so prob wont be seen. 3) Does it start. Started it tonight. Idle is VERY low, it wont stay idling unless I hold throttle a bit. I need to do the prep described here. x1scooters.com/scooterpdi.html

I also had a very poor experience with this dealer. I ordered online and two days later my credit card was charged and order was listed as shipped. BOL number from Estes shipping. 4 days later order still not picked up from warehouse. Sent email to inquire, no response from County imports. Spent the better part of the next day trying tocall finally got through to Jessie. He sad he would check on order and call me back shortly. Never received a call back. I called him back six hours lateer and after 30 minutes of hitting redial I finally got to a real person and back to Jessie. Jessie said he checked and the Scooter I ordered was out of stock (2 week wait at least). He recommended a different scooter but said he needed to call supplier and check what colors were available. Once again he said he would call me back (within the hour). Thats right he didnt call back. This guy is listed as one of the Founders of this company. (If service is this poor before they even ship your scooter its time to cancelthe order.) Well the next day I cancelled my order which was another couple hours of redial to get someone. But it gets better they refunded my order minus $40.00 dollars for using a credit card. Read there Web page (countyimports.com) they claim customer service is there top priority but yet they want to charge a fee to a customer for running a credit on an item that was not available!!!!! Stay as far away from this company as you can. Oh yeah I did get my $40.00 dollars back did a dispute with my Credit card company and they got that back for me.

Sorry one more thing I forgot to mention. They have separate numbers for sales, customer service and technical support. The sales lines are staffed well and you will get answer every time. Sales lines are an outside agency that just takes sales orders for county imports. Allthough I ordered online I did try the sales lines for service as I could not get through to customer support. So dont be fooled if you call sales and get an answer, they will be happy to take your money, but thats all they can do. Your on your own after that. John

I was looking at this dealer, because it is in California, and I believed that they could take care of the DMV registration. Prices seemed good. Some descriptions on the web site were confusing.
I read this forum, including the BBB comments, and decided to be careful before buying from this store because of the comments that once they sold the scooter, they no longer responded if there was a problem, = but then at least some people got a good deal.
I decided to get it in writing. And not to trust the sales telephone number, so that if something was wrong, I would have a written record.
Its now the fifth day, and I haven't had a response back, to a request for a price quotation and request for clarification that the scooter is like the web site rather confusingly said it was.
In summary, if you have concern about this dealer or other internet dealer, get the answer in writing. If they don't write back, shop elsewhere, there are plenty of other storefronts willing to take your money.

I am thankful to find this post. This is Jesse from County and as always there are two sides to any story. To start off this entire nightmare with this person. He placed an order with us back on 5/23. Now I mention this as our delivery time as stated can be 14 business days. Doing the math we were well inside our delivery time and he knew this. We called this customer 5 times sent countless emails to get some questions answered about his order. Since he never responded his color sold out. So finally we spoke and had to let him know his choice for color was not in stock for another few days now. note: customers need to answer phones too. Usually when somthing asks for two color choices it means select two different colors. Now he asked for the same color twice. This tells us he really wants one color. Not hard to figure out. Moving on we called him to let him know that the color would be delayed -which he was okay with-. Mind you he has been rude and impatient from the beginning we should have reserved the right to refuse his service but being opened minded people we gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now down to the truth of this sale. This customer specifically said he would wait for the color to come in stock which was appreciated at the time. We processed the order and put in first arrival ship for when his color came in he would be first to ship. We sent the order over to the warehouse and the wrong color did ship. Now here is the best part, the correct color was qued to ship as well so there was a free scooter out there!.. We tried to recall the first shippment but our shipping go there too quick. Instead of calling us and being nice letting us know he was RUDE AND CURSING. Now, we do care for our customers and actually have over 60 people working in this company to provide the service we do. As we all know the gas prices have caused a sever influx in sales. But noone deserves harassment. Not even the dealer. We will go to the end of the earth to help people if they are nice in return. (get more bees with honey) You will notice every company selling is having these issues. We have added more lines and employees CMS is a company who does handle biz as long as everyone understands thier role. This customer here as you can see from his typing is abrupt and rude from the beginning. He has no problem slagging our name through the mud and not even mentioning we are moving literally 40 units a day compared to others moving 10 maybe. Now this customer here needs to understand today is thew 14th business day. If he would have been nice from the beginning we would have already had his new color choice shipped and he would be happy but since he decided to be rude and mistreat people who was not in thier control of an accidental color. The truth is the unit was shipped on accident and if he had not said anything he might of had a free moped as we still showed his order to ship a different color. All I am trying to say here is not every customer has a valid point. I will say many do however customers to us are managers to others in different fields and I would not like to have to work for this person. He is abusive to our female employees and completely violates his terms of service. final thought, this persons CC was already refunded and noone will talk to him by phone for good understanding. All communication is not via email for records. Scoot riders... this post is to state our side of this story. We are a VERY hard working company that treats each sale as if it was an investment. We work 12 hours a day to provide the service we do. Please understand your buying over the internet and are lucky this is possible to begin with. We do what we say when we say we will do it. If somthing is not right with an order ever you need to allow the dealer you bought from the time to make it right. This is why you select the dealer to begin with. CMS has a FULLY AUTOMATED website to file and process any after sale needs to cut down the phone calls. Look at this as a good thing as not many other websites offer this. Please follow the directions, be patient during this gas crisis and you will be served. Remembering we are shipped you a 300 lb crate with a vehicle in it via semi trucks there are alot of things to process to make the system right. We use www.estesexpress.com so for those of you needing tracking you can actually call the trucking line with your name as well as using our step by step traking email system. CMS has a 13000 sq ft retail store with 3 master techs as well as a ton of customer service reps. Out side of the service we provide the rest is up to the quality and durability of the moped you purchased from China. Our job is to introduce you to the MFG we have over the many years have had the best service with. On a close note..... You make 100 customers happy you may see one good post about it.. You have 1 bad experience and 30 people hear about it. This is business. CMS does a good job in this industry and has a full page of actual testimonials to back it up. Questions? give us a call let's talk about them..... direct - 559-255-SERV note: We are a US Distributor, Master Dealer for every line we carry, thier #1 actually as well as have our own 50,000 sq ft warehouse for a reason. This is the CMS way. Thanks for reading.

I just read the very long non cap post by the owner of county motorsports. I am not the person that the owner of County motorsports is talking about in his long posting. But .....
I totally recommend that before doing business with this store, you get the information in writing. And if they don't write back, move on. You have to suspect that there is a reason they don't want to put things in writing.

Well that was a good explanation, lacking paragraphs and a little hard to read though. The problem is, complaints seem to be popping up everywhere, form here to ripoffreport.com and everywhere in between.
Maybe growing pains?

Growing Pains and good explanation. well maybe. But the non=paragraph explanation says it was a customer who ordered on 05/23, but the post here was just two days later on 05/25. The original poster gives a time line of problems happening well before 05/23. Can't be the original poster unless he has a time machine. Might be that the problem is growing pains, but the explanation is for a different "nightmare" customer than the one who opened this thread.

I do not own a scooter at this time, am considering one to save gas for my relatively short commute on city streets and require a machine that will cruise comfortably at 50 mph. I live a couple of miles from CMS's B&M store so decided to drop in last week and look around. The showroom is about the size of a large convenience store, with a service dept. out back.
The salesman I spoke to was very conscientious and helpful. My main question when I went in was whether their B&M prices would be similar to their online prices--the answer was yes, but with the addition of CA salestax and license fees as they handle the registration for the customer.
The salesman was careful to sit me down and determine my requirements so he could recommend an appropriate model--concluded as I already had that a 150 would best suit my needs, then showed me a few models that would fit my pricerange (under $1800 including tax, license, etc.). No effort was made to upsell me to something more expensive. I'm 58 years old and have probably dealt with at least 15 or 20 different car dealerships and a few motorcycle dealers in the past, and this was definitely one of the better experiences I've had. I did not purchase I bike from them but would definitely return when/if I do decide to get one.
While I can't speak for the online purchase experience from this dealer (It's my understanding that their call center is not even in CA) I would not hesitate to recommend them for a local purchase. My overall impression was that like any good business they were trying for success via honest dealing and good customer service rather than going for the quick buck with high pressure sales and shady dealing.

Hey weezer,
You sure you don't work for County? Me and my sister had a horrible experience with them and yes the store is small and not as big as stated on website. But service, are you sure? Was spot-on enough to make us cut bait and run to another dealer!

They still haven't responded to my two simple email questions. about their product.
At this late date, it not so much that I am still expecting a reply, but noting that the wait is so long to get a response, or no response at all, and what seem to be an aversion to putting it in writing.

tomato,
YMMV, so far you've gotten a few "nays", but I'd wait another day or two to see if the "yeas" decide to chime in before you make your decision.
County imports: Too much information and not enough paragraphs, little confusing if someone is trying to address the points you made.
Most folks here on the forum are very courteous and are interested in providing informed opinions. If you lurk long enough, you may notice that as well. The first few posts made regarding the thread seem genuine and are tips and suggestions towards improving your business practices, not just blatant rants.
Press, good or bad has to be handled properly. Where I'm from a "yes sir" or "madam" goes a lot further that trying to make an unruly customer look bad or stupid.
Throughout your response, you proudly point out if rude customer "X" would have stayed cool and kept his/her mouth shut, they've would've gotten a free scooter. I missed the point, entirely. All they wanted was realistically when they can see the scooter that they paid for or a simple honest reply regarding delivery? Which brings up a point, why is the warehouse manager letting profits(free scooter) go out the door?
A dealer/business has the right to refuse service. It is prudent as in any business that you exercise that right once in a while to prevent things like this from happening. I think if the situation could have been handled differently from the get-go the outcome would have been better received. Regarding rude customer "X' you might have told them "we apologize, we are no longer taking orders for that color scooter and will gladly refund your money". If I was told that I would've been content and gone elsewhere. Honesty is the best policy.
Yes, owning and operating a business is hard work and that is commendable that you/staff have a thriving business during our current economy. Don't forget that folks who want scooters, work hard for their money too, maybe even harder if Chinese is all they can afford.
Nobody is twisting your arm into web sales, it's a choice? As you know its a "dawg eat dawg world" concerning drop-shippers and if you can separate yourself form the rest, the dawg pound will sing you praises. There is a right way and a wrong way towards damage control.
No slagging here, just some constructive criticism.

Hi I want to update everyone on the thread that I started, I did not start this to bash anyone but to let everyone know the experience that I had and my feelings of County. The scoot I ordered arived on May 30, it was the color that I agreed on, it was damaged (Rear back panel and center lower panel) I called the bank and to let them know it showed up and to stop the prosses went to Team Dumez and explained to them they were cool with it, I did spend $400.00 there for upgrades did the PDI (it runs) I am happy with it filled the form out for damage and the form for MSO on the 4th it is now the 17th and have not recived replacments or MSO as of yet, I do think this will take awhile hope summer is still around to plate this scoot so I can ride it. Jesse, this thread is good for you, and I think if you use it in the right way it will help you grow and serve your customers in a much better way, for all that will do business with County, just rember that the only reason County is here is to sell and it is easier to do that when you can understand and deliver to what is paying the check, and that is the customer, will you respond?

I have to throw in...I got a scoot from County Motorsports-CSM- (countyimports.com) this past Friday... charged my card in 2 days and the scoot arrived within 7 days (good shape from Estes)...wish I would have checked on CSM first...I was initially impressed with website, but after my DOA scoot arrived (250B, supposedly, but shows as 244cc), I checked and found they have an UNSAT BBB rating and a couple "ripoff" reports that are mirroring my experience...arrived Friday the 13th, no doubt...will have to find a patient and decent mechanic in ATL...and hope they can get parts for whatever is ailing my scoot...forget getting any help from CSM...never answer phone or return email...supposedly have CS staff of 50 answering phones 24/7/365...this is BS...feel lucky if you can leave a voicemail.....I hope they are reading the forums!

Were lucky to have the internet??? Or were lucky that youre on it? Get with the times...the internet is taken for granted, and no one considers themselves lucky to buy something online...its just like buying something at the store except you gotta wait...nothing different...

I called County Imports yesterday since I have not recived my replacement body parts yet, I was told that they have no record of any damage claim from me on file, again they had filed the info and said they will send parts to me. I should get them in about two weeks so I am told has anyone else had trouble with the replacement parts from them?

I purchased my MC-04 150Y on June 26. My scoot was received on july 8. I was a little disappointed on the shipping time but I live out in the boonies and the thing was shipped to my door, so I was okay with that. I too had difficulty reaching the staff at CMS over the phone and went as far as finding alternate numbers on yellowbook for their store. I had great success via EMAIL. they responded back to me usually around 930pm via email as well. I had some title issues and Jesse at CMS made it right. They even followed up with me over the phone trying me at multiple numbers (home, work, cell). Thanks Jesse. I am still waiting on a new headlight (fork lift took it out) not the fault of CMS.
I believe CMS has been fair and I got a great deal on my scoot. We are getting these at a wholesale price...you can't hold them to the same standard as buying it from a dealer...
To make it short...I would buy from CMS again because the price was right, but I do agree the customer service response time could improve.

I found this rather amusing. Check out their warehouse: www.countyimports.com/about_usDidn't realize they could claim ownership over BMS's warehouse. www.bmsmotor.com/company.aspAlso, check out their Kansas warehouse.... Seems like their Kansas warehouse is actually the same BMS warehouse in City of Industry...except it's only the parts section. I knew I recognized the picture. The folks at BMS are great. I wonder if they know that their pictures are being used.

Well I wont put them down, but as a B&M dealer near them. I have been fixing alot of the scooters they have sold in their area. Due to the reason they either refuse, adqualty repair or just don't want to work on them. I know that is where most of my money comes from, so I try to do it right and well. Sorry you all have had problems with your scooter's that they sell and have drop shiped to you from a warehouse they have no control over.

I bought the 150cc Leike Hornet from their site in February. It's a great little bike. It looks great and feels great. I received it with the front right blinker not working, the left passenger stirrup was entirely missing, an uncalibrated speedometer, a non functioning tachometer, and the engine covering was totally cracked. I called them to initiate a claim with the warranty dept. 4 phone calls, and 53 min. later, I spoke with a sales rep who didn't know anything about the warranty, and got to a warranty dept. voice mail that was full! So I looked to get these things repaired elsewhere. Nobody knows where to get parts for this bike. I used the bike to get to work and home (11.4 miles) NEVER laid it down. All the appropriate and on time check ups and tunings. I've taken REALLY good care of it. Now there is a CRACK IN THE FRAME and they've taken over a MONTH to initiate the new claim. They are now REFUSING to even help cover the cost to repair it! POOR customer service. I am taking legal action.
