Also known as county imports. Currently known as "Master of Delay"
LIVE daily update: Ordered scooter 5/16 Received scooter 6/2 (not bad shipping time) They claimed title sent 5/26 Claimed sent title again 6/17 Claimed to have sent it YET AGAIN 7/10
PLEASE EVERYONE.... RESEARCH THIS DEALER... THEY SEEM TO HAVE AN OVERWHELMED SUPPORT STAFF If you do decide you want to buy from them, first try to contact customer support. (in 3 days or less) Now, granted, it is the busy part of the season right now, so you milage may vary in fall/winter.
See thread title for # of days since I received the scooter with no paperwork to register it.
==========================================
Also wanted to say how happy I was to come across this site. It really makes owning a scooter a group experience. I feel I can now handle any of the problems that eventually will happen to any scooter.
Has anyone had any experience with having their local auto shop fix their scooter? Is it easy to maintain the scooter?
Thanks! GREAT SITE!
Dan

So Monday, I start tracking estes with my scooter. They were in LONG BEACH, CA Yesterday, Thursday, they were in MIDDLESEX, PA and Today, they were 1 mile from my house. I thought they would deliver it today, (the estimated date was the 30th). So I called just to make sure, and they said it is on the truck, but wont be delivered until Monday. Wow, CA to MA in 5 days. These guys can drive. Taking tips from all you fine scooter guys & gals, I went out yesterday and purchased the following: 15W-40 Oil 80W140 Gear Oil. Premixed anti-freeze. I'm all set to replace the liquids. On the safety side of things... I also purchased: Blue padded motorcycle gloves. (scooter is blue) Blue Helmet with silver streaks. HJC CS-12 A yellow and black jacket. Take a peek. Best to be seen. www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Gear/Mens-Textile-Motorcycle-Jackets/MJ2234Yellow;jsessionid=0a0107431f4352cce08ca53f4f34ad4f80a97e67f5d1.e3eTaxiPc3mTe34Pa38Ta38Tchf0I also purchased flashing brake lights which mount about existing brake lights. It has been said it keeps car further back because they think you are taping your brakes. Sooo, thats it. I'm ready. Assuming it arrives in one piece, and is blue.

You might want to read my PDI instructions while you wait. The link is in my signature.

That's a whole lot of prep! I printed it out. It made a lot of sense. Some people have complained on this forum about: Overheating engines Electrical problems Gas Line problems This document covers all of those problems BEFORE they happen. Very Nice. Thank you very much! Dan. Now I need to go out and get some silicon, black rustoleum, Loctite, and make sure anti-freeze is aluminum safe.

Great Dan, you made the right choice Yes, believe it or not, if everyone just took a few hours when the scoot arrives to do a proper PDI, this forum would be dead! (Not that I want that) I have been buying China scoots for a long time, before they were popular, and when they used to come in the big wooden crates. I have to say, between me, my family, friends and club riders, I have probably prepped about 30 of these things, even the Baja Motorsports ones from Pep Boys, and of all of these, only one had an actual failure of the engine from bad casting. All the rest went on their merry way except of course the occasional plastics problems. If you do it right and take your time, you'll get plenty of happy scootering out of it! Good luck, -Rich

Arrived 10:30am!!!! I'm at work now. Haven't had time to do anything but free it from its steel cage. The scooter itself was in great condition. Was the color ordered. It's a 250. (No B on the side) I will have at the oil, gear oil & antifreeze tonight. The only problem was the attached trunk & windshield. Windshield had a minor scratch. (very deep but on the edge where it mounts so it wont be seen) The trunk had a scuff mark. also deep, but i'll try to fix it myself rather than send it back. (Haven't tried starting it yet, so rating may go down tonight) Here are some pics. www.flickr.com/photos/10700249@N06/2545176153/ www.flickr.com/photos/10700249@N06/2545176441/

Well, yours worked...mine was DOA...no power with a good battery...arrived Friday the 13th, no doubt...will have to find a patient and decent mechanic in ATL...orderd a 250B and not sure it is the 257cc according to Roketa labeling...will have to check other pics...forget getting any help from countyimports.com...never answer phone or return email...feel lucky if you can leave a voicemail...I was initially impressed with website, but have an UNSAT BBB rating and a couple "ripoff" reports that are mirroeing my experience...I hope they are reading the forums!

Don't write your scooter off yet! There are a couple of us who had DOA issues. Look for blown fuses. If you can't find a blown one, do a search here! search blown fuse an you should come up with what my sister ( thecheermom823 ) posted about our fuse fiasco!

I'd be happy if any paperwork showed up from county motorsports. At this point if they sent a business card via USPS I'd be impressed.

Ok here's what they do... They charge you for overnight, but they dont actually charge the credit card until they ship the document out the door.
So, for those keeping score...
if you order overnight docs from any scooter dealer with a credit card, they will overnight ship it, who knows when, overnight.
it still could take a month or two, but it will be SHIPPED overnight.
Clear as mud.

I looked around before I ordered for a dealer on the east coast. Evidently, CarolinaScooters doesn't do as good a job of advertising as county motorsports. I saw what looked like title, service, info contacts. I saw what looked like a large company behind the sale. (Not 1 or 2 people pretending to be a large company)

Hey, I bought from Bandit which everyone believes is one of the top tier dealers.
Purchased, 21 May, received scoot 6 days later. Receiver my MCO TODAY! (05 July).
I don't know what's going on in your case, but in mine, the system broke down due to the huge and sudden increase in business, which it seems, the dealer and importer couldn't handle.
Good Luck.

That's as bad as my story. It's true, with all the press on CNN, MSNBC etc, people are buying scooters up as fast as they are making them.
I actually started looking at scooter back around Sept 07. I should have purchased then.
Dan.

How about you keep updating your original topic and stop bumping your thread when you have nothing else interesting to say/add? Don't mean to sound rude (and I know this post will sound quite), but this is getting really old. And yes, I'm sure it's getting old for you too, but every time I see "new" on this thread, I keep thinking there might be something going on with your progress, and there isn't, just more whining, and no, there's no mail delivery on Sunday!
You should be on the phone/sending them an e-mail every business day until you get your paperwork...if you aren't, then that's your own fault for being lazy. Should you have to hound them to get satisfaction? No. Do you have to to get some action? Sure is looking that way.

Got a phone call from County Motorsports a few minutes ago. A day later than I thought. They asked me again, AGAIN... for my VIN. I've told the number to them about 10 times (not exaggerating). So I told them, and then had them repeat it back to me. (Just to make sure) Sooooo, they said it will go out TODAY. UPDATE: (5:59pm) web status says: TITLE AND BILL OF SALE MAILED 7/10 MR No tracking number yet. To add a bit of humor to this otherwise irritating and unusually lengthy process, I submit the following Smilies in order of date and status. Ordered from Country Motor Sports. (5/16/08) ;D Order status says shipped docs & scooter. (5/26/08) Recieved scooter (no docs) (6/2/08) Scooter had some scratches on trunk & windshield. Emailed them about docs. (6/16) The emailed back, docs must be lost, will resend (6/17) Emailed them again, where are my docs? (7/1) No reply. I order overnight shipping of docs (7/2) Got magic number from ScootDawg user tomato (7/8) (Thanks tomato)Call dealer and actually talk to person! (7/9) Delarer calls me for info on shiping the docs over night ;D ;D

I live about 2 miles from county motorsports, I wonder how long it would take if I rode my scooter from scooterdepot.us and sent it to you myself. They put my MSO in the crate with the scooter but did not sign it. I have the paperwork started at the Fresno DMV , but had to mail the MSO back to L.A. To have scooterdepot sign it and mail it back to me. They're still cheaper than Hondas. Happy scootin. Bill
