Last night going to work my scoot left me pushing it home 4 miles. I love my scoot first time i've ever had any problems with it. Apparently the cam bearing retainer failed and seized the cam breaking the timing chain. So I sent an email off to support asking what to do before had the chance to diagnose the problem fully. I got a pretty quick response on the first email ~3 hrs. Then that morning I got the chance at first light to see what the full extent of the issue, once I found the problem I was able to fire off the second email with full details. So far i'm pretty happy with the promptness of the first contact.

Dear Gordon,
I love my 150CC scoot alot and ride it everywhere. Tonight while riding it the motor stopped abruptly and wouldn't start again. I checked it out and it sounds like the motor has no load when trying to start it (spins quickly) the CVT is spinning and the cooling fan on the other side is spinning also. I haven't had the chance tonight to pull the spark plug to make sure the piston is moving, going to wait till daylight to check it. If something internal to the motor where to break ie. timing chain,crank... how would one get warentee work, parts, or support?

Our warranty is a full replacement parts warranty against any
defective parts, including engine and transmission. It is a
replacement parts warranty and does not include labor. Most
parts are easily fitted, but you can use a mechanic if you wish,
but labor is not included in warranty. Good maintenance is very
important to the performance and longevity of a customer's
bike or scooter. So we cannot ascertain how a customer will use
and maintain his motor scooter or motorcycle.
This varies with each customer.
The following items are not covered under warranty (except for
shipping damage) unless at our discretion: Tires, rims, body panels,
fuses, forks, shocks, gaskets, light bulbs, switches, seats, oil filter,
air filter, fuel filter, clutch, clutch wear parts, cables, drive belt, chain,
spark plugs, any part made from rubber, brake linings and/or pads,
batteries, sprockets, external springs, clips, nuts, bolts, fasteners.

our customers hundreds of dollars.
We don't make one cent on spare parts, we pass this benefit onto
our customers. Other dealers DON'T do this, but instead make this
a profitable secondary business for themselves.
We also, sell our bikes and scooters at the lowest wholesale prices
and with the minimum profit, so our customers get the very best deal
for their money.
David, if you need to order any parts just let me know and I will send you

Hello again
Well thankfully I'm a very verse mechanic and have located the issue. I checked for piston movement via the spark plug hole and it was ok. Then i pulled the valve cover to find the real cause of the problem. The camshaft bearing seized causing the timing chain to break. Inspecting the bearing showed the inner retainer of the camshaft bearing had failed causing the camshaft to stop abruptly therefore breaking the timing chain.
The service history of the machine is:
Upon arrival the engine oil was changed and the gear oil also.
The intake and exhaust valve tappets where adjusted to the factory spec .004"
at 300 miles the engine oil and gear oil was replaced
at 600 miles the engine oil and gear oil was replaced again. Valves adjusted to .004" again variance was minimal maybe .0005" off.
at 1000 miles the engine oil and gear oil was replaced and was at the start of a replacement interval of every 1000 miles.
How should we proceed?
