Hello Everybody, Are there any scooter clubs in the western suburbs of the Chicagoland area? I'm just getting my scooter and would be interested in joining or possibly starting one. I live in Naperville. Anybody interested, please drop me a line. Thanks.

Used to live in Romeoville, but didn't have the scoot then, and moved to NC a year and a half ago. Wish I could find people around here to scoot with.

I live on Bolingbrook, just bought a VOG clone.....not happy with it. since you guys are local where did you buy yer scoots from? I may need to find a local shop to take this one to, to get it tuned up a bit.

Hi bdysnchr,
I have taken my scooter to LVC Motorsports, in Naperville on Ogden Avenue. They do a great job.

I believe they will. I have a Motofino scooter and they had no qualms about working on it. They sell Schwinn scooters (which are made in China by TNG) and they sell Suzuki scooters. I was told by Craig, the Service Manager that as long as they have the parts, they'll work on the scooter/moped. You could give them a call: 630-904-8600. They are located at 1570 W. Ogden Ave.

I actually got the idle adjusted and the air/fuel mix all set, still tops out at 45-47 mph Gotta be a jet adjustment or a carb adjustment I'm missing.

Great!! I'm glad its working out for you.
Yeah, that Burgman 650 is something, isn't it?? You can go around the world in that scoot!
BTW, is your VOG the 260cc one? That's a nice looking bike, and it should definitely go more than 45-47 mph. If I remember correctly, it should go about 70-75mph. Anyway, once you get the kinks fixed, let me know if you'd like to hit the road before the weather gets bad. My scooter is a 150cc but it can hold its own at about 60-63 mph--but hey, I'm not trying to break any land speed records--"its all about the ride"

I've been tinkering with it all night....still cant get a rise outta her..I'm going to have to have someone look at it. I'll try to call "cough" tech support again tomorrow, and we'll see what they have to say. I'll keep ya posted

Whelp, after all is said and done, I finally got a different tech at EVOSALES..They think my speed issue is 1 of 2 things. Either I have a bad carb, or the valves need to be adjusted. 70% chance of the carb, and 30% chance it's valves. Soooo they are sending me a new carb and I'll swap it out when I get it. If I still have the speed issue, they'll pay up to 180 bucks to have a local shop adjust the valves. I hope a carb fixes the issue.

bdysncher,
That sounds like good news to me, considering that a lot of the internet scooter companies don't even respond to queries. I have heard of some that have stated that you have to write or try calling China for your warranty needs. Now that, would be a nightmare! I bought my scooter from Ecobikeusa.com and they are fantastic--great service, and response to everything within 24hrs or less.
I'm glad you are mechanically inclined and can change the carb yourself--I hope that's all you need as well.
Well, again Good Luck, it seems things are going to work well for you now.

Count me in Down here in Elwood, Roketta MC 54-250-B Hi flatflyer, WOW, Elwood...isn't that south of Joliet? Sounds like an interesting ride. Maybe we could meet half way. There are a couple of other fellows I'm trying to connect with to see if we could start some type of "Riding Club". If you have some ideas I'll be more than happy to hear them. Unfortunately, its kinda late in the season, but if we coordinate something we might be able to take in a couple of rides before the weather gets worse. Well, nice to "meet" you. let me know. Phil

Count me in; Roketa MC-04-150 in Lisle. Hi mx5tc, I guess we are neighbors in respect to cities. Whereabouts do you live in Lisle? I live close to Centennial Beach (if you are familiar with Naperville), thats close to the Downtown area. Anyway, as I mentioned to flatflyer in the message above, I know its late in the season, but maybe we can take in a couple of rides before the weather gets too bad. Weekends are usually best for me, though I work some Saturdays. Sooo, if you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know. Nice to "meet" you also. Phil

Hi, I think i have almost the same bike, Xingyue xy260-t4. 257CC Linhai Yamha motor. I got mine thru NST via an Ebay seller. runs great, on hard accelleration snarls like it ought to, purrs like a kitten in cruise. I have only taken it up to 45 MPH, but it is loafing at about 4K RPM then. Only problem was getting the right attestation about meeting federal DOT standards on the MCO so the Secy of State would grant a title & plates, but the folks at NST were helpfull with that. Did you check, or have someone check to see that the CVT variator rollers are moving without restriction? maybe you are not reaching high gear.

The NST, Roketa, evosales.com are all the same bike from Xingyue with the 257 Linhai clone. Xingyue offers this bike in 2 flavors (you will not be able to tell from looking at the bike or the serial number), one with standard Chinese carb and the other ($120 more FOB China) with Japanese carb and a couple other mods. All the importers I know of are buying the cheaper version with the Chinese carb... Rony evosales.comiscooterparts.com

Hi everybody, I know it's a little late to be takin a ride yet this year. But I'd sure be interested in getting involved come next summer. I'm located in Wayne (just east of Elgin). I got my '08 Raketa 250-54B in August. Only had time to put 400 miles on it before storing for winter. So as soon as it get warm again I'll be looking for someone to ride with. Ether weekends or during the daytime on weekdays.
Anyone in my area hope to hear from you. Bob

Hi Everybody!! Well, I finally took my scooter out of hibernation this past weekend. I guess both the scooter and myself are ready for some ridin'.
Can anybody spare a couple of hours this weekend? After all, its a long one. I suggest getting up early, do a little riding, and we still can have the whole day with the family or other activities.
We can meet for breakfast somewhere and take off afterwords. Anyway, I'm open for suggestions...but lets start doing some riding!!
Phil
