Before appling this to my faceshield I wanted to see if anyone has had a good experience using Rain X on helmet shields since they are plastic.

No, you don't use RainX on plastics. Get a good plastic polish like the one Cee Bailey's sells. -Rich

Not a problem. I used to use a cheaper polish from Auto Zone, but when I got my new shield, it came with a sample bottle of the Cee Bailey's polish. The difference is unreal! The bugs come right off and the rain rolls off like RainX. I buff my shield with the polish once a month. The little bottle goes a long long way! You won't be disappointed!
I guess I would ask them about the anti-fog issue before buying though, I don't know about that.

As far as fogging I just get around it by cracking the shield up a bit or opening all together at stop lights and then dropping back down once I get going. My glasses tend to fog if I don't. Mostly I just wanted a good way to shed the rain should I get caught in a rain storm. I'll look for that Cee Bailey's and go from there.

Where do you get the Cee Bailey`s? Do they sell it at places like Autozone/Pep Boys, etc?

lancecharming,
Cee Bailey is a manufacturer of AIRCRAFT windscreens and other high stress and other high strength plastic fabrications. Highly respected in their field in that area. As a natural offshoot they offer replacement screens that are typically far above the quality of the OEM stuff...
Kudos to them! However, I don't think they manufacturer any of the cleaners or polishes they offer for sale... but the ones they do sell are top notch...
To address the question, I don't think they sell anywhere beyond their web site. The same products are certainly on the market bearing some other name, that is almost a guarantee. Sorry I can't give you a specific name.

You can get it on their website at this link. Follow the link to care products. As far as the polish for the shields being available elsewhere? I'm not sure you're correct rerun, it's in a homemade looking bottle and I think it's specially formulated for them. I seem to remember reading something to that effect. -Rich

as a former airplane detailer i can tell you that the best stuff for plastics and acrylic is definitely plexus. that will take any of those little buggers right off your screen. its used on front windshields too on jets and while im no pilot id assume that it helps get rid of the rain.

I agree that plexus is excellent, but warm water takes bugs off quicker and won't leave scratches. Just wet a rag and let it soak for a minute, they fall right off.

It is made by Dupont for Cee Bailey's... Though it is their own special formula... The closest thing available at automotive stores would be Dupont Ion.. It is almost exactly the same.. Dupont wasn't allowed to tell me what the differences were, just that for plastic windshields, and all the plastic and rubber parts on the scooter, the ION is probably the best thing to get(from the auto store)...
Also, it seems you can't order Cee Bailey's polish online right now, everytime you click it, you get an error page.. Bummer....
