Hey there, Newbie to message boards, signed on yesterday but messued up greeting then. So I don't have a scoot yet, tryin' to get into the little bike frame of mind. Lookin for info on bikes and dealers. I'm interested in a 150cc touring (Tank, Roadrunner, Roketa Bali, etc.) which is the best model? I have read some of the forum postings. Also has anyone had experience with HXCmotors (internet dealer) from Denver, or Bike2go in California? Other suggestions on dealers? I'll keep reading but I will definitely appreciate extra input. Thanks ;D

Howdy from downstate. I think quality is pretty well the same across the board from what I've seen as far as the chineese scoots go. I'd say find the best deal and go with it. It's a crap shoot. I went with a Roketa Fiji, have'nt took delivery yet but thank goodness for this board! It is a wealth of info! Thanks to folks like Earl WB, I already know what to expect and look for when it arrives!

ashdump, I pretty much agree with that line of thinking, with the HUGE caveat that I am really convinced that a PROPER dealer set up is worth the extra bucks. At least it appears from the history here on the site that the folks that have had significant problems have them with new rides that have NOT been dealer prepped. Albeit that eventually everything gets sorted out. So I raccoon what I am getting at is there are two approaches that are quite valid, go for the cheap deal and know that mechanical matters will be on yourself, or if you are not inclined in the wrenching area, the set up is a better way to go in the long run...

No comments on the dealers you mentioned, never heard of any of them myself... but you can check out the "Dealers, Good and Bad" thread, LOTS of info there on a lot of dealers, all from buyers and victims!
http//www.scootertronics.com and Bandit are two dealers that come to mind that have very good reputations here, but I am certain that their prices will not be as 'economical' as other dealers. They do business in an entirely different manner, and are serious about customer satisfaction and after sale service...

Go talk to Dave at Absolutely Scooters in Elgin, good guy and he's local.
He's also on this forum.
