Just finished with a few projects on the scooter and had to share some pictures. All lines changed out with some Goodyear hose. New plug and performance coil and wire set. Finished painting the cargo box. In the process of taking those funky plastic clips out and replacing them with screws and star washers. All fluids changed with Valvoline 20w-50 synthetic in the crankcase and 75w-90 synthetic in the gear box. Brake lines flushed and replaced with good DOT 3-4 fluid. Scooter runs great and will do 60+ mph. Not sure of the gas mileage as haven't checked it yet.

Ozarkman,
When you upload your photos to PhotoBucket, please pull down the drop down menu and choose the resize to 640 pix. Some of us don't use the auto resize feature in our browsers and the pics go wayyyyyyyyyy off the screen.
Very nice looking paint and graphics by the way!

Will do on the picture resize. Just getting the hang of the picture downloads. The Chinese scooter might require some work to keep it on the road, but I find that tinkering with it is therapeutic. I'm learning to do all repairs myself as no mechanic around here will touch it! It's simple and easy to work on and I enjoy it for cruising around town, and it makes a great grocery getter. My other scooter is just start it up and ride. How boring!

Beautiful! I have one in school-bus yellow that I bought used last fall. I changed the gas lines and fuel filter, but still can't get it started. Is it pretty easy to work on or do I need to find a manual somewhere? It's been a while since I cleaned a carburator (and longer since I spelled one).

bbcleve, since you have worked on them before, I would say you probably don't NEED a manual, but they are always nice to have. I did jetting and needle changes and cleaning to my scooter without a manual (did online searching though). The scooter carbs are fairly straight forward and simple for a carburetor.
Nice ride Ozarkman! I love the camo!!!
