Hello, I am looking at buying a scooter and I have several questions. I am currently thinking about buying a Strada RX 200 HP from valley scooters. What do you think of the RX 200 HP? Is their a better place to buy it than valley scooters? Their are several things I would like the scooter to do:
FIt me comfortably, I am 6' 3" 270 lbs Hold 2 people comfortably Spend 2k or less on it can get up to 60mph get's good gas milage 60+mpg
Also, I heard a rumor that scooters are unstable and have a very hard times on bumps and that I could get thrown off even when not going very fast. Is this true?
How safe/unsafe are scooters? Again I have heard they are less safe than motorcycles and very unsafe compared to cars...
How is the acceleration on scooters? On Strada RX 200 HP?
The warrenty for Strada requires the bike to be preped and put together to have the full warrany. Any idea how much that would cost at a local mechanic?
Anything else I should know?

Sory, I bought the last RX200HP from Valley last week! Maybe you were the other guy asking about one. They had one left and I grabbed it. It just showed up yesterday. Looks great, I'm not sure how to get it assembled fully tho. There are parts and no instructions on where to put them. I asked Valley about the best bike for my specs, he suggested the 200hp. I have a 1/4 mile dirt driveway, he said the 200hp is more rugged than the others, a 1/2 hr commute to work at 60-65mph. He said it'd do that, and gets 75mpg. Since I live in CT, and they operate in CT, they couldn't legally sell it to me (they can only sell up to 50cc in CT!), so they sent me to www.minibikesplus.com, and they've actually been easier to get ahold of. See if they have one available. It was $1499 to the door. Kevin

I bought a strada Rx 200hp 3 week ago, so far so good exept few minor things. It drive well and has a lot of power for a scooter. Also they are easy to work on it.

Oops, sorry about that.
First, get training, MSF course is good, will answer alot of questions.
Scooters with small wheels are less stable than motorcycles indeed, unsafe? no, not really, just different.
Scooter is as safe mostly as you make it, any two wheel vehicle requires you to be extremely defensive with your riding to gain any level of safety. In any accident you will come out poorly, so you have to avoid them at all costs.
Acceleration solo is pretty good, they are geared for a much lower top speed so the get there faster.
