Hi Everyone,
PhotoBucket has CHANGED their software, so here are the new instructions.
I know most of you know how to add in-line photos, but for the new people and people who are not familiar with the procedure, I have made this simple tutorial:
Getting Started:
You need to have two things to post images here, an account with us, and an account with an image hosting company. The best image hosting I know of is Photo Bucket. Click Here to open a free account with them.
Once you have an account with them, follow the steps below to add your pictures:
Uploading Pictures:
Log into your account at photobucket.com, this is what you should see:
Notice I have powerscooters.org (my site) in one tab and photobucket.com in another. It makes it easier to go back and forth using tabs. If you have an older browser that doesn't have tabs, just click File --> New --> Window.
Once logged in, you will see this screen:
Now, you'll want the PhotoBucket software to automatically resize your images to fit this discussion group, so pull down the menu shown and choose, 640x480 (Large):
Once you have this done, click the blue button that says, Choose Files:
Here, you'll see your drives and directories. Pull down the menu and choose the folder where your images are. I am using a Windows computer for this demo so it should look like yours. The most common place to store images in Windows is: My Documents --> My Pictures:
Now find the picture you want to upload:
Click once on the image you want and then click okay, or you can simply double click an image.
You will now be back at the browser window, and your file(s) will start uploading:
Once done, you will now be able to share them! For our discussion board, we use the [ IMG ] tags:
If you left click one time on the bottom line, your image will automatically be copied to your computer:
Posting to the discussion group:
Now return to the discussion group, go to the topic you want to post in, either reply or create a new topic and in the text area, RIGHT CLICK and select PASTE. You can also use the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl & V:
That's it! Once you post the article, your images will magically appear!
NOTE: You can have multiple images in one post, as in this one.
If you do have multiple images to upload, when selecting your files, press and hold down the control key while clicking on the images and they will be selected.
To get all the files, click on the first one, press and hold shift, and then click on the last one - all of them will now be selected:
Have fun!
