Hi Everyone!
What a beautiful day today was! 25-30mph winds didn't slow us up a bit, we still had a wonderful ride today... thank you all for coming out, it was a lot of FUN, and some great food too!
Well, for the first time in scooter history, scooter time didn't apply today! Everyone showed up at CC's in the New Orleans ON TIME! Kudos to y'all!
I don't have pictures from that side since I waiting on the west side for the Westbanker's to show up... four confirmed and four didn't show :-(
Anyway, the Eastbanker's showed on time at Puccino's coffee house, where we met up. Everyone was still shaking from the ride over the Lapalco bridge! Sorry guys, I guess I'm just used to the metal gratings! I'll get a new route for all y'all light weights next time!
Pics are below, here's a video:
Alan wanted to try out Lil Fat Boy and pop a wheelie...
After some coffee and chat for a while, we headed south for Jean Lafitte State Park:
We went right by my house on the way! That's it on the right...
We finally landed at the park. This is literally in my back yard folks. The land I live on was filled, but used to look like this. The next few pictures are in the park itself:
Here's the resident Ranger showing off her wares and the critters that live in them thar woods:
We ran across a baby gator... Hmm... might look good on my backrest!
Next is was off to to the town of Lafitte, about another 12 miles and over another bridge... no grating this time! We wound up at Boutte's Restaurant on the Bayou! It's a small converted house that sits on the water and serves the best seafood! The shrimp literally comes from about a 1/4 mile away! A few people dropped off to visit with friends but caught back up after a while to eat.
We went upstairs and sat out on the deck overlooking the Bayou:
After some great cheap food, it was already after 4PM and we had to head back :-( - THIRTY THREE MILES without a traffic light! Whoopee!
Oh, and finally, the pose from Alan... I have to post this picture on the UK site I belong to since Alan is from England:
The three Fs were out today! - FOOD, FRIENDS AND FUN!
Y'all should have been with us!
