Big Easy Weekender - Sunday
Hi Everyone,
Today is the last day of the Big Easy Weekender in New Orleans, and the schedule today started in Laveview where some of the riders got started. I joined the group waiting in New Orleans at CC's Coffee House, but not until after my regular trip across the river on the ferry.
Riding over on the ferry I met up with a couple of other scooterists heading to the Eastbank, one of them, the hardest working man in TV news, my old friend, WDSU, channel 6's Norman Robinson. I invited him to come along, but he was on his way to Church in the Quarter.
I gave him an event brochure for the Scootin' on Da Bayou ride coming up in two weeks, and I'll follow up with an email to see if he'll join us!
So after a couple of mishaps along the way, two of the girls ran out of gas, they finally arrived at CC's and we were ready to hit the road!
We took off and headed through the French Quarter, onto Magazine street, and headed out to the Audubon Park:
When we arrived, we found Mike and the crew from Big Easy Scooters cooking up a great lunch!
The food was incredibly good! There was beef brisket, amazing green beens, boudin, baked beans, potato pie, and more! Really a nice feast! Thanks Mike!
Now comes the relaxation and socializing time. I just had to check out all the really nice scoots and great people!
This is Pryor Robertson, A big shot a Kymco and really nice guy! He's going to put me in touch with the marketing people, so maybe the next review scooter will be a Kymco! He thought it was a good idea...
After a few hours, Mike packed in the lunch and brought the supplies back to the store. We sat around for a while more enjoying the beautiful day and then headed off for some more riding and met up with Mike at Big Easy scooters.
From there, we headed uptown to a Snowball stand for some refreshments:
I just had to get this picture of Chaz... James caught it first, but I think he was sitting there about 20 minutes without moving once! It's a pretty cool shot!
So there you have it! The Big Easy Weekender wraps up a Big Easy Success! I couldn't make all the events, but I tried!
Props to all the people involved in organizing such a great event, including, James, Chaz, Big Easy Scooters, The Transportation Revolution, The Scoot New Orleans Yahoo Group, Kymco USA and everyone else I'm forgetting!
Let us know what you all thought, and don't forget, only two more weeks until Scootin' on Da Bayou! Come on down and pass a good time! This one is going to be the biggest ride of the year!
I hope y'all had a nice virtual tour of Scootin' in Nawlins Dawlin!
