Hi to all:javascript:add("%20;D")
Grin
Have been searching for a "true" scooter enthusiast website for quite awhile now . . . so glad I found you!
As a new member, I'm still learning my way around the site so I hope this gets out to "younz-all-n-at" (a little Pittsburgezee)!
From what I can see, so far most of you could call me "gramps" but
thats OK since I already have 4 grandchildren . . . but I'm young at heart.
Began my "riding" at 57 and have not looked back. Started on an '85 Honda Magna 500, moved up to an '88 Yamaha Venture 1300; kept it for 5 years and then picked up the newer version, a '99 that I use for my longer rides.
With this new-found mid-life interest I also picked up an '84 Honda 125 Aero Scooter . . . great little ride and use it quite often to run errands around town.
HOWEVER, my real interest in this group is because of my good fortune to have found a 1962 Vespa VNB3T 125cc; it was made for and sold by Cushman. My grandson and I started restoring it 3 years ago . . . body is painted and ready to go. . . the engine has been disassembled and we will start putting it together this Tuesday . . . I'm hopeful that my reach-does-not-exceed-my-grasp as the say! I'm no gear-head, more like a parts changer. But with alot of books, the internet and now younz guys, I hope that I can "reach out" for your collective wisdom when needed.
Well enough already . . . I'll upload pictures as soon as I learn how .
PS. Three of my fellow riders have moved from bikes to scooters; i.e., (Honda Silver Wing, Suzuki Burgman 400 and a Honda (? 250cc) so I'll mention this site to them as well.
Best regards
Rocky
