I just saw a commercial on TV that is very frightening. To sum it up, it was about drivers eating a sandwich, biting it and the contents fell out the end making the driver look down and then crash into something that blows up. The un-named regional food chain now comes in with the "clowny" solution. Don't eat their sandwiches when you drive, eat our chicken bites and special dip sauce.
Hmmm, am I missing something here?
Something perhaps as, "Eat your !@#$%^& lunch where you bought it?"
A few ramblings, that's all.

I'm right there with you.
Oh, cell phones too. A feller I work with travels 3 miles to work. He road his bicycle to work one morning and said he counted 37 drivers with cell phones stuck to their ear on that 3 mile trip. Amazing.

There's actually a law against driving and using a cell phone in the city of Chicago, and it doesn't stop anybody.

slacker, you can't me more closer to the truth. In fact, drive anywhere in Chicago and look for the CPD cruisers and you'll see them yapping on a cell phone too. How can one be expected to obey the law when those that are charged to uphold it ignore it all the same?.

I think the scariest commercial is that new burger king commercial where the rear driver hits the person in front of him and pushes him out of the way so he can get his food quicker. I don't understand commercials these days.

No the scariest Burger King commercial is where the guy wakes up and "King" is in bed with him. That must have been one REALLY bad party the night before! The "King" scares me.

I couldn't imagine waking up next to him. I'd need a serious amount of mouthwash and showering.

Actually you are right mortar , but it's not specifically towards cell phones. It is called inattentive driving and you could be written up for yawning, changing your radio station, eating on the fly, etc... In downtown Naperville we have "cruising" laws which mean you can't be on the same street more than once within "X" amount of time or be fined and they enforce it tremendously.

This law is apparently as effective as Chicago's no handgun law! Yup, I did some research on that for a speech I did, for speech class (the irony), and crime went up by something like 400% within a few months of the ban. Gun laws are stupid. A few day waiting period is good, but a ban is about as stupid as it gets. Just about every gun ban put into effect has caused crime to rise within the area, proving that they actually work the opposite of what they "should," but politicians still push for them and convince the people that they will be safer without anyway to defend themselves. Most people that abuse guns are already breaking laws in numerous ways (robbing a bank, drive-by, etc.) so what is one more "gun possession" on their rap sheet. Stupid, just stupid... Aero

Somebody should take this to the courts.. How can driving on streets that YOU PAY FOR with YOUR TAXES be illegal EVER in ANY WAY??? I bet the cops patrol on the same street over and over.. breaking that very law themselves.. Mabye you should stop them some day and give the cops a ticket for "cruising" on YOUR road. The US Declaration of Independence says you have the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.... What if ..for you Happiness is cruising around the town showing off your car. I really just wish Government would concern itself with REAL problems, and work on REAL solutions.. instead of wasting its time and resources with this kind of stuff... Like the cops dont have anything better to do than to write tickets for cruising... If that is the case then they should fire some of them and save the taxpayers some money. Sorry for the RANT.. I just really hate this kinda stuff... Ken

He road his bicycle to work one morning and said he counted 37 drivers with cell phones stuck to their ear on that 3 mile trip. So he's mad that all the cagers are distraced, yet meanwhile he's busy staring into cars to see if they are on cell phones rather than give his full attention to the road. That's the pot calling the kettle black. I think the scariest commercial is that new burger king commercial where the rear driver hits the person in front of him and pushes him out of the way so he can get his food quicker. I don't understand commercials these days. That commercial makes me laugh, as well as the one where NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin is a valet and smokes the tires parking the car. Maybe I just like burnouts too much. Regardless, have a sense of humor about things. It's just a commercial. Even with the chicken dipper commercial, drivers should be capable of thinking for themselves. If you wouldn't eat in your car before, that commercial won't make you. If you would eat in your car before, you still will.

Oh, and the cruising laws are riddiculous to me as well. I live in a small town and most of the kids around here go to a nearby town (also pretty small) and cruise around on weekend nights... or at least they used to. Now we have cruising laws and parking laws. Cops harass kids for cruising and if they try and park in a parking lot to talk for a minute... here comes Johnny Law. There's nothing to do in this one horse town, the kids try and go out and have fun somehow, and they get threatened with criminal tresspassing for parking in the shopping center parking lot if they come back again... so they drive around and BAM cruising law. It's a great idea... if you would prefer that the kids just stay home and get drunk or high. I'm sure that sounds a little out there to some of you, but around here at least, drugs often get used out of boredom. Pretty sad.

Then why is it that these city councils keep getting voted in. Citizens are going to have to stand up and vote them out if they want the laws changed. But people are just too dumb , lazy and self centered to do that, so they just complain about these rediculous laws. Laws are not going to change by themselves, you have to become involved, not in politics per se, but in your own community. You live there. Are you happy with what you live around? Vote these 'nanny' politicians out so we can get something done for a change. A REAL change.
Ride free, ride safe.

I know what you mean, I have seen that type of behavior all over the AZ small towns. The state should buy these kids scoots ;D. I used to enjoy a drunken night here and there but now I got my scoot I just scoot for fun; and even with the high price of gas, the price of a Friday night drinking is still much more expensive than a Saturday morning ride made possible by not having a hangover. Nothing beats the cool morning air blowing by for a good time. Stay safe dawgs

good observation hydro, we live in a very modern society and our kids have to bike. nothing wrong with that if your a marathon runner. i think that everyone without a m/c/lic should have two years on a 50cc. that way the kids would appreciate what they have and would act accordingly.
i couldnt of had better kids, well thats what people tell me anyway. im the dad that will put a foot in your ass type and they know it. i dont care if i rule by fear or respect whatever im doin its workin so thats good.
think how many cars wont be on the road. id rather it be like in the movie legend dessrted streets in the city i could have fun there lol
