Have you ever seen a scoot, or MC rider cruising around with a helmet attached on their ride and not on their head? What is it there for, decoration?
To me that's as funny as a screen door in a submarine. What's the point?
Just a thought.

Maybe they was in a hurry or distracted and forgot to put it on untill going down the road then fig what the hay I will put it on next run? Other than that they don't need the helmet they don't have any brains to protect. lol

I see that around here, near the MD/DE state line. MD riders get into DE and take the helmet off, since there is no helmet law there. I've actually carried a helmet on the scoot without wearing it, back when I thought the only reason for a helmet on a scoot was to keep the cold out.

I see this in open mall parking lots, which I sort of understand as one is only going 1000 feet or so from the Wal-Mart to the Home Depot or something. Still folks in autos are even LESS likely to be watching out for scooters! And at last check, the pavement is just as hard as that on the roads! It is a wonder! I think viewing graphic videos of injuries should be mandatory for those getting licenses, might help folks realize that they are vulnerable regardless of how tame the circumstances seem...

I sometimes do that in large parking lots when I'm going from a store at one end to another on the far end. Needless to say, I move very slowly and cautiously when doing that, and usually go around the perimeter of the lot where no unseen surprises can pop up in front of me.

Yo Dennis D, I think you at least use the smarts the good Lord gave you! I really have no problem with the way you go about it. I was posting more about the dolts that just run around Willie Nollie like they are the only one moving... scoot on, my man! ;D

It doesn't matter how well I'm geared up.... moving through rows of cars in parking lots makes me VERY paranoid. Enough so that I brake for SOUNDS in front of me that I can't identify.
