Thanks, that is good info, and something that all too often isn't taken into consideration. I have bookmarked it and will add it to a number of safety related links I plan to post soon.

I'm glad that someone found this useful Dennis....this would go great over at your forum. Riding when tired is not a good thing. You must be alert at all times!!!!!

Yeah, I'm going to put a bunch of links to other safety tips and imortant safety pages on my scooter safety tips page, and that will be definitely be one of them. It's sort of frustrating how many people are uninterested and think it won't/can't happen to them. With an, "I've never had an accident and believe I am a safe rider, so I don't have to learn more about safety" attitude. My own feeling is that when I'm no longer interested in learning about safety every way I can, and acquiring a higher level of riding skill, I'd better quit riding, because I know how close I've come to"biting the big one" in the past, when the only way I was willing to learn was through my own unfortunate experiences.

Yup, I've posted that link a number of places... of course that was just plain ridiculous. I figure that guy was going well over 100 mph. It sounded like the was getting blown right off of that perch on the back of the crotchrocket even before they crested that hill!
My granddaughter rode 200 miles with me on a poker run this weekend an loved it. But I cautioned her to be very careful who she ever rides with, and to always wear as much gear as she can. But you never know about kids.... it was a good bonding experience because she's been a real terror until recently. But I just hope she exercises better judgement about who she gets on a motorcycle with, than she does picking the rest of her "friends".
