Really close to home for me! Several motorcyclists were injured on Interstate 95 about 9:15 p.m. Saturday when the lead rider in their group struck and killed a large black bear, causing the rest of the bikes to go down. www.staugustine.com/stories/072907/news_4743066.shtml

I would think gators a bigger hazard than bears in Florida. They sure are in south Louisiana. I know more than one person who has hit a gator with a car. No bikers, though.

Most of the interstate is fenced, gators have trouble getting through. You have to watch on local roads though. An armidillo is enough to take you off a scooter if it hits right.

I can't comment because I'm biased towards deer. I've hit 3 and killed 2.
