Ouch my ass hurts *LOL* Tonight i was out with the little monster scoot if there were any street racing going on at a site near me, there were no ppl there so i took a stroll just for fun. Im that kind of "adrenaline" scooterist, so when it's no cars out i like to go fast around roundabouts almost like a touring rider. Well, if you have a scooter with 10 inch wheel ya better learn to not put to much leeeen to it .. In other words, i learnt that today on the roundabout really close from home. I was coming in at about 90 kph, slowing down to about 30kph just as i started turning and really putting her down (and me to).. I just felt the back wheel go away and me self sliding on the pavement.. Sparks was flying from the scoot and ended up about 5 meters from me . As i said befor, i would never do this stupid sh!t if there were cars neerby. Well i ended up with a pair of wasted training pants and a rippt ellbow on my canvas jacket. I always wear glows if i can and so i did, no damage there. My left knee got a nice hit so it's been pield of some skin and is beading some, nothing to worrie about with my standards. .Same with the elbow and my ass got just a blow from hitting the ground but no scraping .. The scoot didnt stop, was idleing like a kitten when i lifted it up. She got some scaring on the left covers, but not much. CV cover at the clutch got some nice grinding marks and the kick start to + the knobs on the handle bars. Well thats that folks, i'we learnt my lesson and feel the need for a real racer Marcus

nice to see that some guys are caring for me *hehe* I need to rig a angle warning thingy so i can see when im aproching the danger zone . This was actually good, cuase my wife didnt let me repaint the scoot (cuase it's hers). But now it has these scars all over the left side, so i guess it's ok to sand the old paint down and plaster or put boning in the scratches and just paint it matt blach as i always wante . M

A couple of years ago one of my Truck drivers got his name changed from "Robert" to "Raw- Butt", he had one of those 750cc Yamaha crotch rockets and used to love popping wheelies ..... well at least until that faithful day he did. LOL

Wow! Glad your ok. My husband's parents are from Sweden-his dads from Ohs (if I spelled it right) and his mom is from Boden. He & his sister lived there for about a year when they were little kids and they have a lot of relatives there. He took me there in the early 90's and I loved it. Good to see a Swede on Scootdawg.
Drive careful,
Manx

Sorry for your luck, but glad you weren't injured.
Was leaning too far left at speed the cause of your fall, or might you have hit some slick roadway? Are the 10" tires prone to losing traction in higher speed cornering?
This might be a good thread for the safety column so others can learn from your mishap. These are not sportbikes, people. They are fun, enconomical transportation.
Ride safe and have fun.
Cheers,
SiestaRandy

Well I am glad you came out of it OK. My cardinal rule is to never let anyone else ride my scooter or motorcycle. That goes for best friends, spouses, and anyone else for that matter. it seems to always happen too, you let someone take your ride for just a few minutes and they go out and trash it on you everytime. You've now left yourself open to being reminded of this incident many years away in the future. She owns your soul now the devil can't have it.

ive never lost grip pushing mine to the limit on 12" tires, scraping the centerstand through a corner is another story though!

All it take while in a lean like that is a small stone or sand and your down. Hope you and the scoot are ok. For thowe who fancy yourselves to be wheelie kings, a small stone you missed seeing can upset what you thought was the perfect sustained wheelie. And once you're up like that, it's pretty easy to miss a small rock or piece of debris. I learned that lesson years ago on a 305 Yammie that would hold a sustained wheelie almost indefinitely... til I hit a rock. After that it was at least a week before my knees worked good enough to walk and go to work again(and I had problems with one knee for years after that because of it). Just riding is a lot of fun. Bustin yourself up to show off or doing stupid stuff just to see if you can is the fastest and dumbest way to learn about pain, mortality, and the ultimate price of letting enthusiasm overcome common sense.

ive never lost grip pushing mine to the limit on 12" tires If you ride on the street, it may eventually happen. I wrecked mine a couple of weeks ago on a turn I have taken a hundred times before at the same speed. A little oily residue, and next thing you know, you're on the ground.
