This is in memory of all those who were stupid enough to let someone borrow their rides. just for a little spin around the block. Yeah your best friend says he'll take care of your ride no problem. He finally wears you down and you let him take it for a spin. www.videovat.com/videos/1686/motorbike-crash-tree.aspxSee what happens. It is all your fault too, for letting him ride it. Basically, never ever let someone ride your scooter or motorcycle. Besides, my insurance only covers me riding my rides, no one else.

Another fellow and I were at my house of an evening and he wanted to go get cigarettes. I knew he had owned motorcycles before so figured he could ride a moped. When he was almost back to my house he fell on a flat, straight street about 3 doors down. When I heard it I knew exactly what it was. The bike was never the same. Of course he "promised" to pay for all damages. That was about 15 years ago and I'm still waiting. I always suspected he was fooling around, zig-zagging, but he wouldn't admit it.
The next day, when I told another acquaintance of ours that Dave had wrecked my bike the night before he asked if he had gotten hurt. "Not enough", I replied.
Especially don't share, if your scoot is your only means of transportation. Just say NO!

Here's another one that shows a first time rider might need a bit more instruction than just being told where the throttle and brake are. Even people who ride motorcycles can be surprised at how quickly a tiny bit of input causes a significant direction change on a scooter. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBXgZ9HWF5E

That was almost exactly what my friend did with my Primo. Got on with an attitude of it's just a stupid scooter and fifteen feet later he and the scoot were down. She didn't even strap the helmet... very Darwinian.

Yup, I have always figgured its easier to say NO and keep what I have than to say yes and then have to buy another and probably loose a "friend" in the process. If somebody really wants to try a scoot, just go down to a dealers and have a test drive. Art

Humm, that looks like a good reason why even dealers shudder to let someone test ride a bike.
