Greetings!
The ScootDawg Forum was established on February 11, 2006 as an extension of www.ScootDawg.com . It was started primarily as a place for scooter enthusiasts to be able to discuss their machines, repairs, performance upgrades, rides, clubs, etc. without the negativity and poor information found on so many other boards. The forum quickly attracted a friendly and knowledgeable crowd and we have grown rapidly. We now have members from all over the world with many types of scooters from Vintage Vespa Scooters to the latest maxi-scoots, and yes, a large contingent with Chinese scooters.
This is a homegrown project. The Staff at ScootDawg are all unpaid volunteers with full time jobs outside the scooter industry. They contribute their time due to their enjoyment of scooters and the desire to help those interested avoid the mistakes they and others have made.
You may notice there are several ads on the site. Advertising space is only granted to those who have proven themselves to be reliable and provide top quality products. ScootDawg is still primarily funded by Dawg. We have turned down advertising offers from several companies just because we didn't feel like we knew them well enough to put the ScootDawg Approval on them. It is a long term goal to have the site become self sufficient but never at the cost of personal ethics. If you read a positive review or see an ad on ScootDawg it got there on it's own merit not the size of the sponsors checkbook. Our primary goal is to provide reliable, honest information and reviews. While all opinions are subjective we will do our best to get you the information to help you make good decisions on scoots and gear.
So welcome! Feel free to join in, ask questions, learn lots, and have fun. And always remember....
It's all about the ride!
