Is there any adjustment on the 2-stroke 50cc minarelli style engine oil pumps? This guy brought one in and it is literally spraying oil out the exhaust with a cloud of smoke to boot.
I checked the gas, and it isn't premixed.
It is the pump that has the throttle cable control on a TNG venice 50 with mikuni carb.

Yeah, that's the motor, and I know they have pumps(have one ordered), but they usually don't have any tech support. I talked to a TNG dealer and he had never come accross the problem (except when the customer mixes the gas & uses the injector). I just was wondering if there is someone out there that knew of an adjustment.

this happened to me once in korea. Heavy smoke for roughly 40km of riding. it was spraying oil out of the exhaust. It turned out to be caused by the scoot being laid down on its side. oil got into the air box and into the bottom of the engine. worth a look if you havent already

The Japanese 2 stroke oil pumps often had a "plunger" in which shims were removed. Never had ocassion to mess with a 50cc Japanese scooter oil pump, as they never fail. I don't believe they had any adjustments though. I don't think it's a adjustment issue anyway. The oil pump has a rather liimted capicity and I don't think it could pump enough oil to come out the muffler. If it was a motorcycle, I would be thinking clutch side main seal. Since a scooter doesn't have a gear box to have oil in, I'm thinking the oil pump seal is blown.
