After some research I am seriously considering A Xena Disc lock with alarm. I know that some dedicated thieves could still put it in a truck and drive away with the alarm blaring but it seems to be an extra layer of security. I'm not too concerned about it at school because I park behind the University Police station. ;D Tom (newc77), I'll try calling and begging the MSF course people. If you can do it, maybe I can, too! Aerostudent, I'm glad someone got the Futurama reference! I didn't expect it really, considering the average age of people on this forum.

My coffee colored Milan arrived today! After fighting with the steel frame and plastic that it came in, I filled the battery, changed the fluids, and installed the trunk. I walked it over the gas station and filled it up... for $5! YESSSS!
It kicked over after 5 or 6 kicks and I rode it (slowly) the 1/2 block home to finish the Pre-Ride To-Do list.
It took me a LOOOONG time to get a side panel off, and after realizing I wasnt going to have it finished by the time the NCAA B-Ball started, I put it back together. Ill tackle it again tomorrow. Pics comming soon!

I wanted to provide an update on my new Lance Milan!
I now have a little over 350 miles on it. I seem to be getting an average of 74 mpg! I still love the ride ;D No problems at all, no other bulbs went out. No accidents or close calls with cagers, luckily. I've been riding in my full gear even when its godawefully hot out!
I'm starting to wonder who is the bigger idiot - the other scooterist I see wearing shorts/tank tops/flip flops - or me, wearing all the super hot gear!

jennymrose,
Nice scooter, I have a Milan too but its Sliver. I was originally going to match my champagne Civic but, it would've been much for my wife. Then I noticed your posted pict of your car and scooter, ROLF.
No prob riding with safety gear all the time, always cold and foggy in my neck of the woods.
FYI, at 250 miles had to replace the burned out brake lamp bulb(5006). A nut held the rear mud guard, once removed it allowed for a tight squeeze to the lamp assembly. Removing the right blinker also gave me some additional room to work in.
Continued good rides on your scooter.

JennyM: Glad you are riding that Lance scoot, and loving it. BTW YOU are the wise one, AND the one who would survive a crash (God forbid!). Ride safe, Tom

They do make summer riding gear too. Might want to check into it, of course this is the most expensive time of year to buy some. If you can get through this summer, the dealers will have some great sales come September/October.

Since you are in Calif. (lucky gal) you may want textile or "air" gear for sure. Check out motodirect.com, motorcyclesuperstore.com and see what they have for you. Ride safe, and cooly, Tom
