My scooting history:
It all started in 1986 with an old badly mistreated “Piaggio Vespa 50cc 1964” – 3 speed hand shift. Some parts were already missing as speedometer, muffler, idle jet, engine covers, headlight, taillight and the complete exhaust. My father built/welded a new exhaust but we never mounted any engine covers which caused the engine to stall a little when hot. It was quite fast for a 50cc at that time. I’m still the owner of it and it still works but I need to fix it up a bit
Here are photos of the Piaggio Vespa 50cc:
Not in best shape..
Then the lost years passed (no scooting)...
In 2005 I got my drivers license for heavy bikes
The training on a Honda 900 (owned by the traffic school) didn’t really convince to buy a bike at that time.
In 2006 I bought a used Indian scoot Bajaj “Sunny 50cc” (called Bonnie in Sweden) for my fiancé. It was also quite mistreated and the CDI was broken (I like to fix things). It was a bargain and I repaired the CDI (a cold solder). We had some problems with the reed valves and idle. Soon my fiancé gave up hope because the Bajaj was too hard to start when cold, manual choke and still some idle problems. Later this year we got a Kymco ZX 50cc Scout 2005 (called Fever in Sweden) for her and now she’s very happy ;D
Photo of the actual Bajaj Sunny:
Guess who got the Bajaj at this time? (I did)
Photo of my fiancés Kymco Scout:
In the beginning of 2007 I sold the Bajaj and bought a used Kymco ZX 50cc Scout 2002 to be able to ride on the bicycle roads together with my fiancé:
I really enjoyed the Kymco for 4 months but started to long for something bigger/faster and recently sold the Scout and bought a used Wangye WY150-T3:
I’m still happy with it except from a few small issues but I think I’ve been really bitten by this scoot thing – a lot
The thing that started all this:
Me riding a rented PGO T-rex 125 ;D
Recently I saw an ad with this scoot and must start saving up - maybe
Xciting 500-06 - not mine but I wish it was ;D
Keep up this good forum
(Updates will follow)
Update: Found real photos of the Vespa 50!
