Well, here's my first strange problem! My speedo will not go over 20mph and the mileage says 90 on the odometer, but 120 on the trip odometer! Any ideas? Roketa wants me to send back the speedo...

Send that rascal back. The odometer and trip meter should read the same mileage. Something is not up to par inside the speedo. On my scoot the cable was so rusty it was unbelievable, but the speedo did work.

I already checked the cable... disconnected it from the front wheel and all was fine there, Disconnected it from the speedo, and again, all fine, it wasn't loose at all.
Funny thing is, the trip odometer is reading fine... checked it with my GPS, so it can't be a cable problem.
I think I'm going to have to send the speedo back...

Well, I bit the bullet today and decided to take this rascal apart. There were 9 wires that had to be disconnected along with a few plugs and 5 light bulbs to get the entire cluster out.
You can't just take out the speedo, it's part of the cluster, so I guess she's laid up for a while... back to the cage!

If you had to depend on the scooter as your only transportation you'd be in bad shape. Too many importers act like they're in the toy business, instead of selling serious adult transportation.

I agree, but at least I CAN get parts from the people I bought the scoot from, even if I have to wait a week or so. It's much better than all the horror stories I have heard about other sellers.
I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if I can give them a credit card to authorize and send the new cluster out. I really want to get back to scootin' when the new windshield comes in.

Well, I finally got a minute to put in the new speedo, but of course, the new wiring didn't match the old! Different plugs and extra wires. I had to cut all the wires and crimp them together: After all was said and done, and an HOUR labor time, it was finally done: Wound up being a good thing, because the FACTORY TAPED wires together... can you imagine?
