That scooter is 20+ years old... but the mileage is ridiculously low for that age... OK, maybe it was a little ole lady's, the body panels probably cost as much as the asking price... hmmmmm for the price of a new scoot from Honda being what it is, I would probably take a chance on it, if I could take it to a dealer and verify that it is really a Honda, and not a dressed up china clone... but then again I have other ways to get around too, so tinkering with it would not be a big deal for me...

You don't have to take it to a dealer... you'll be able to tell. By the title for one thing, there were no clones of the Helix in '86. Sounds and looks sweet. Scooters are often ridden sporadically throughout their lifetime, so that's not all that unusual. Someone who had it was thinking.... unless I'm mistaken, that little spoiler added to it looks like it has a row of lights, maybe LEDs on it. That's a good thing on a Helix, as the tail lights are very low. See how the back tire looks. You may be able to get them to come down by the price of a back tire and tire mounting if it needs one. From what I've heard, the 10" back tires only last 5 to 6,000 miles on the Helix. It has some of the parts that typically get replaced most often with it, so that;s a good thing, too. That price may be a bit high, offer 1500 cash money. If you can pull it out of your pocket and wave it in front of them, I'd bet they'll take it.

Looks like the body panels are from Qlink, they're interchangable. The Bridgestone rear tires last about 10K miles, you'll be lucky if it has that on the rear. By the faded center piece it's been stored outside. I wouldn't hesitate to drive a 32k Helix cross country if it's been well maintained.
I have the same Helix as Dennis, a black 2001 w/Givi topcase. The great thing about the Givi is it has a built in tail light, the Helix's tail lights are way too low.
The body parts are about $325 shipped off ebay, the windshield is at least $75.
I'd check the cooling system hoses for cracks but that scoot should last at least another 70,000 miles.

Looks like the body panels are from Qlink, they're interchangable. Is that where that panel with the spoiler and LEDs are from? The QLink, or maybe the CFMoto Fashion(since apparently QLink doesn't let go of parts very easily)? If it'll work with my luggage rack, I gotta get me one. It's not hard to match black(or at least get close enough)

Here is a link for Helix parts including the rear spoiler. www.helixparts.com/usa/index.php?cPath=45_33Looks like the body panels are from Qlink, they're interchangable. The rear spoiler or windshields MIGHT be OK from them... but I have no respect for helixparts.com. The mechanical parts they sell are a waste of money judging from the totally worthless belt AND rollers I got from them. They also are totally dishonest in their posting policy for customer reviews... as they will only post reviews favorable to the products they sell... I guess that's why there are so few of them! I got a belt from them that stretched way more in less than 400 miles than the stock belt did in 17,000, and the rollers I got from them were flat spotting bad(for 400 miles) and also missing chunks of material, even though I lubed them just like the stock ones.
So... if the parts on that 86 Helix were from there, there's a possibility that the "new parts" being sold along with it are of very dubious quality.

To Dennis D, I am also from FW, IN: well Huntertown to be exact. I am searching for a 250cc scoot to replace my aging 1982 Honda silverwing. My email is exposed so give me a shout.
