Hi folks,
New here, I found your site google-ing for reviews of the Ricardo RM250-18 and SUNL SL250-2. Looking thru this site I didn't find anything either. Does anyone have any input on either of these scooters?
They both are around the same price shipped to my location. I know they are cheaper brands by price and my have quality issues but I wanted to see if any one has any experience with these?
Thanks,
Scott

Welcome to the forum OK, Historically SunL has a bad rep for service after the sale, even buying parts from them. Ricardo is sold by Valley Scooters and I think you will have good luck dealing with them for parts, even if you buy it elsewhere. The other thing is that the parts from one maker will usually work on another one. The 250cc motor comes in two forms. Jim from Bandit wrote a good post you should read here. scootdawg.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=200cc&action=display&thread=1173295459Last, if you do not or can not work on the scooter yourself, do not get something a local dealer will not work on for you, your honda/yamaha/suzuki/kawasaki dealer most probably will not work on a chinese scooter for you, a lot of independant repair shops will not work on them either.

Thanks for the reply medman. Yes I looked the post over from Bandit. This site is great to learn the pros and cons. I just put in an offer on a Vivi Roadster. They want to much for the shipping on most of those. I looked the shipping rates up and they are about 1/2 of what most ask on ebay. I expect that is were they are trying to make profit.
Maybe they will take my offer as fall and winter is coming and they might be stuck with 2007 inventory that may not get buyers until the spring.

I'm going to highly recommend that you do not buy from an EBay dealer. Please check out Valley Scooter, they have a couple models that come close to Ebay prices. You will save yourself more in the end by getting it from a dealer that is not just a drop shipper. www.scootersus.com/tankscooters.html

Ok, I have seen you post what I consider SPAM ads for your parts one too many times now. We get it...... You sell parts for Roketa and Sunl (in case anyone didn't already know that). You have a link in your signature, which I think is sufficient, so please stop the self promotional posts. Add your name to the dealer section and those who need you will find you. Thanks. Stan if you need a part for the sunl email us at sales@sunlparts.net

I'm a newbie at this Moderator thing, and I am pretty patient, but I do have SPAM limits. I figured one of the other Moderators would say something since I don't want to sound like I am against people selling parts, but eventually, I will stomp on these posts. There is always a proper time and place. Stan Wow Stan, you have alot more patience than most.

Thanks guys. We dont have any B and M shops for scoots here that I know of.
I ordered a jmstar Viva 250 Roadster the other day, they just email me the tracking number. I changed my mind with the Ricardo due to the small wheel size and went with the 13.
It should be here around mid-next week. Good timing with the price of crude today! $89/bl

It should be here around mid-next week. Good timing with the price of crude today! $89/bl I know thats right! I'm so glad I can ride mine close to year round. I can keep right on getting that 65-70mpg and those $3.25 fillups from empty! It's gonna be quite some time before I go into debt for another car. I might go outta state maybe twice a year, For that, I'll spend $55 and rent a little chevy aveo for the weekend or whatever. It's just too damn expensive to keep a car these days. I'd rather take that money and buy a home and put whats leftover in the bank.

Hello Scott. I hardly go here to check out reviews on our scooters. I dont know much about the Viva Roadster. Our 250cc scooters do have 13in front and rear wheels, dual radiator, with a pretty nice pipe on it. It has a trunk and radio with MP3 jack. I guess this is for future riders looking to comparing scooters. we stock most of the parts in our warehouse. I hope this helps. www.ricardomotors.com
