ok, i started with a 150 motofino. it seized up on me and my dealer just today took 500 dollars from me and gave me a new scooter that was 2 model years newer. i have ridden it around the block and all seems good so far.. i had to go deliver the old scooter and bring the new one back.. a ten hour drive..one way.. this scooter would do only 52 mph and it wasn't enough for me which is why i also have the 250
now back to the mc 54 250 not the b.. i sent every response to the fuel starvation problem to my mechanic and he finally got it back to me just tonite. i rode it on the expressway. he told me he read all the posts and did all the stuff except the electric fuel pump.. anyway, i rode it home on the expressway and wasn't even at full throttle and was doing 73 actual mph and that was the same stretch i didn't make over a quarter of a mile before it died.. it was great! no problems at all.. about 6 miles no problems.. and i know it had more to go if i wanted to go faster. no fuel starvation.. thank you all for your imput.. I hope this is making sense. its very late and i drove 14 hours today and im goin to bed.. so if you have the problem read the very helpful posts in regards to the fuel starvation on the 250 cf moto

A dedicated, 14-hour-driving scooterist deserves a karma or two I think.

ok here goes.. the ugly truth. after spending $450 on the things to tweak and improve on my mc 54 250, I am sending it back. My mechanic did everything short of and electric fuel pump.. we did replace the fuel pump with one stan recommended..i took it for a short run the other nite and thought all was fine.. the next day it didn't go more than a mile without choking again.. i backed off throttle and it recovered.. i tried this several times.. twice it stalled.. at times i couldn't get it much over 60 without it choking. I was on the expressway at night and when it stalled i lost my lights but the fan was still running.. i didn't use the key to start it.. after a few tries i did get it started only to repeat another stall... i didnt' think i'd get it going the second time... but with patience and a little time i prevailed. that was it.. my mechanic has done all he knows how to and i have spent way too much money. my dealer said he wants the scooter back and said he will make me happy. i trust him.. seems like the only good thing to come out of the purchase.. he seems to be a good guy..

Sounds to me like you have one stand up dealer there! I can't imagine the hell you would have experienced if this was a scoot bought from a jerk on the Internet!

yes i have given up. today i rode it for 5 miles and it started choking a little about 50 mph.. then it ran good for a bit.. then it completely stalled out.. anyway my dealer called today and wants to know if i want to change out for a Q link 250... my other option is to send it back to him and see if he can get someone to fix it.. any comments about the Q link 250?

I think the dealer deserves to be named.

A dedicated, 14-hour-driving scooterist deserves a karma or two I think. Almost a dollar's worth of gas. ;D I wish I wasn't kidding.

Qlink 250? That must be the Commuter. It seems to be pretty good. You can read reports in this section.

my dealer is dan at mini bikes plus. com in the detroit area. 1-248-652-4091. its not over till its over but i have a good feeling about him. he really seems to feel bad about my situation. what it boils down to is i had a motofino 150 which did 52 under only the best circumstances. i told him in lengthly conversations before i bought the mc 54 250 by roketa that i wanted a machine that i could ride on the expressway with if i needed to and to very easily cruise at 60+ mph on our general roadways. I told him i was 6'2 and 230 lbs and needed the lanhai engine as it had a little more horse power. the dealer was promised the lanhai motor but what i was sent was the cfmoto, so my dealer wasn't a happy camper to begin with either.. we both tried to make the best of things keeping a positive attitude, or trying to.. guess roketa is not the easiest to deal with.. as of today he is trying to find a way to have the bike shipped back to him so that he can try to get it fixed himself or.. well i dont' know but he said he'd call me back tomorrow. i'll let you all know.. thanks for your interst.

very similar problem with the used Jbstar Baron I bought. Hard to start, ran fine around the neighborhood, but had to go about 4 miles to the DMV to inspect the vin before they would transfer the title. Ran a mile at 50 mph to town, started to quit at speed, just shutting off. Pull the brake lightly, hit the starter, fires right up--- 30 seconds or 30 feet it does it again. Needless to say I aborted the trip and was lucky to get home without the battery dying. Pulled all the plastic, checked all the resistances on the electrical stuff, inspected the stator and the pickup, pulled the carb, checked for vacuum leaks, unwrapped the main harness and soldered all the cheesy junctions, redid the incredibly inept ground joint, no help. Broke down and replaced the cdi box which was the only part I couldn't find specs on and EUREKA no problems anymore. I don't know if i would want to ride this thing 70+ mph, it moves around a lot in a moderate crosswind.
I may have too much air in the tires, anybody know what pressure to start at?
