Hello Everyone,
I recently joined the group and have been looking for my first scooter.
Living in NYC used scooters of a decent quality seem to sell pretty darn fast so I had been considering a commuter 250. However I came across a 02 reflex today with 32K miles on it and will be seeing it tomorrow.
I know NOTHING about scooters other than the research I've been able to do on which are better/worse etc.
This is very sad, I know but I have not been able to locate a dealer locally to take the scooter to for a once over so was wondering if there was any advice on what I should be looking for.
Thanks

I am not familiar with the commuter 250, but I am with Honda products. Hondas are very dependable, it's tough to kill one. Here is the key thing to look for when buying used, ask if it has been wrecked (red flag on that one, might have frame and steering issues), when is the last it has been riddin and not just around the block answer, check for oil leaks, check the front forks for leaks around the seals, has the drive belt been replaced, check tires for dry rot(cracks in the rubber), steering feel loose or a lot of play, condition of the body( cracks in the plastic, holes in the seat, ECT.) cables slack or broke, all the lights work, turn signals work, horn work, does it have a clear title(if not, walk away). This is just a few things to look for when buying used. You can go on line for KBB(Kelly Blue Book) to find what the scoot is worth with the milage that it has. Ebay is another to get a general idea of what they are going for.

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to reply.
I've checked the blue book value and it's priced just below trade in value so that's fair. It appears to be well taken care of and they have the maintenance reciepts etc.
I'll check all you've suggested but am also on-line at the moment trying to find someone to look it over for me but time is limited as they seem to sell really quickly here.
Thanks again.
