MC-54-250B & RX150i Comparison

After receiving my Rx150i Strada, a good friend of mine liked the idea of a scoot, so he ordered a MC-54-250B from scootersus.com. Today was the first chance that we had to ride together and we decided to do some comparing. The 250 only has 20 miles on it so I don't feel that the results we got will stay the same after the break in period. I expected the 250B to run away from my 150B, but the surprise came when the 250 barley pulled away from me at WOT. The 250 does sit quite a bit lower to the ground and I also noticed that the 250 has 13 wheels with low profile tires and the 150 has 12" wheels with higher profile tires. After measuring we discovered that they had the same diameter (19") The Rx150i held its own also during top end runs, it is capable of sustaining 65 MPH, it was just barely out run by the 250, by 3-4 MPH. Maybe after break in things will change, but for now I am pleased with the ability of the RX150i to run with the MC-54-250B. The 250 is a much bigger scoot and is able to handle a passenger much better than the 150. As our rides together continue I will up date with the results.
Till then, and for now, I'm scoot'n with the 250's
