:(I would like to change the coolant in my NST scooter . It has the 244cc honda clone engine. Can someone direct me to some info on where I drain the system and the capacity of the coolant system. The fluid that is in it now looks like antifreeze but it does not regester on my antifreeze tester. I wish I would have known about this site before I purchased this scoot, I guess it was cheap because I sure have a lot of work to do on it. I should have known-you only get what you pay for.

agreading. This is an old post of mine for changing coolant in a RR 250 TLX. It is th same motor but possibly a different location for the radiator but I believe it will give the info you need. First I began to remove the front cowling. I found the best procedure is to take out all the screws starting at the top on dash side. I worked may way down both sides and then remove the two lower outside screws. I found a small power screw driver to be great help (don't use a large screw gun as this could damage the plastic). After that I moved to the front and removed the two inner screws that went to the fan shroud. Last I removed the two nuts that held the cowl. At this point the cowl will drop free. Disconnect the headlight wiring and set aside. I then drained the system by removing the bottom most bolt on the water pump. This is on the right side of the engine (sitting on the scoot). Once all the fluid had drain out, I used a garden hose turned on low to flush the system though the radiator cap located in the front. I continued this process until the water ran clean from the drain hole. This took about 10 minutes. I then re-installed the drain plug and filled the system with new 50/50 mix of Prestone Antifreeze. I used the premix that was designed for aluminum engines. I then ran the engine to "burp" the air out of the system. I drained it one more time and repeated the filling process. After "burping" the system one more time, I topped it off once more and installed the radiator cap. I then re-filled the "Coolant Tank" located under the seat. It can be reached through an inspection panel on the left side of the scoot. I then re-installed the front cowling in reverse order from above and took the scoot out for a test drive. Everything was fine. I am not sure if all units will have the amount of rust and gunk that mine did but I can't believe it would have been good to leave this in the system for any length of time. In fact I think I am going to repeat this process again when I do the 300 km service to be sure.

Agreading - I think your NST is the same as my Viva. If it is, you don't have to remove any body panels to get to the radiator cap. Check under the seat; you should find a little inspection panel under which you'll find the radiator cap. Otherwise, follow Monty's procedure. Gary
PS: I had a lot of problems with my scoot too, but they are all resolved now and I'm a happy camper. So hang in there.
