Now that I've been messing with the CVT cover a lot, I'm wondering if anybody came up with an ingenious way of re-installing the cover? Getting the long bolts in the hole, is (to me at least) always a task of patience and lots of swearing (and some alcohol consumption - right Gary? ). I have been thinking about painting the holes in fluorescent white, so I could at least partly see what I'm doing... Any great ideas ?

It can be a little frustrating on the Honda style CVT cover at first but this design allows much easier access for service because there are so few bolts. I think my Linhai/Yamaha design is the worst because there are so many screws and bolts to remove - screws for two plastic cosmetic covers first, then several bolts on the cast CVT cover. A little practice a few times and you will be able to align the bolts with the holes in seconds.

I don't think it's to ingenious, but my biggest problem was holding the gasket in place while trying to aling the the cover and the case. Once cases are aligned you can guide the bolts pretty easy with a little practice. I cleaned the cover with alcohol and used high temp silastic to glue the gasket to it. Makes alignment very easy, the gasket stays in place and the whole job takes only a few minutes. Had to hold cover and gasket over night on flat surface while silastic set up.

Showme; You have the solution for the loose gasket problem. Others have posted with the same problem and solution. For some reason, the gasket on my cover stayed in place during re-install w/o being glued but I did purchase gasket adhesive just in case.

My gasket stays in place pretty well too as it's nice and greasy
