Always welcome to check mine out; I'm in HB.

I have a Viva 250 Tourer which I belieive is identical to the Tank. I've not owned a high-quality scoot like a Honda or Kymco, so I have little to judge by. But given that, here are some quick impressions:
The Viva seems to be a very decent scoot for the money. It has plenty of power for around town and some limited freeway driving. It will do 70 mph if pushed, but is more comfortable at 60 to 65. Gas milage is great at 60 mpg. There is plenty of storage. Handling on surface streets is fine, but it is a bit "wiggly" on the freeway. (Not quite an "E" ticket ride, but close).
I've had several mecanical/electrical issues, most of which I've been able to resolve myself (with the help of the fine folks on this forum). These have included: two cooling fitting failures, a broken starter switch, some cracked body panels, a battery that failed on day two, and an electrical problem with the charging system that I'm still fighting. My internet delaer replaced all of the parts under warrenty and I did all of the repairs. (I have no prior motorcycle or scooter experience, but as long as you have some mechanical ability and some minimal tools, most of these repairs are pretty easy to do.) Parts are easy to come by.

Hiya I bought a Tank 250 DE on line last spring. It came it, the crate was damaged but nothing wrong with the scoot at that point. The mirrors are crappy and vibrate. I ended up using silicone caulk to hold them steady. I had a lot of trouble with the signal lights. Turned out when they assembled the mirrors, they put a screw right thru a wire. Other than that, i love toe scoot ..runs well and has plenty on power even on Connecticut hills carting around my 220 lbs. I only have about a 1000 miles on it, but given the price i'm satisfied.

I have Tank 250 DE bought as scratched (almost invisible) floor model from local dealer in June. Minor issue early on with left hand brake light switch, a known flaw but not one on current models. At least I haven't heard of it lately. I commute 30 miles each way, 3-5 days per week. 65+ mpg. Varied speeds and conditions, country and downtown big city. Runs like a top and I'm happy, happy, happy ..... I think the somewhat sleazy reputation of the Tank scoots has been grossly exaggerated or is a thing of the past. Most issues I've read about are isuues with a few less-than-reliable internet dealers. Buy local or from dealer recommended on this board.
Go for it !!! And enjoy.

I am a dealer of Tank's a few hours north of you and would recommend you go to this site and look for a local dealer. If I where to say anything about Tank's is the almost over problem of available parts. I have seen that location and the 4 guys worked thiers hinneys off to get into shape. I personally own a tank 250DE older model for a year and love it. I think if I where to get something different, I would get a Kymco 500 for longer trips. The big advantage atm with Tank is the 3 year parts warrentee you get when you buy thru a dealer. Good luck and enjoy when you get it. Here is the link - www.tank-sports.com/dealerlocator.html
