Well finally did it. Pulled the trigger on a new Yamaha Majesty. So far this is great scoot. I have only been able to take a couple of short rides but it seemed really smooth, plenty of power and my wife even liked the ride.
Will get pictures posted ASAP along with more updates when I get a chance to ride some more.

Monty57,
Congrats on your new majesty. I have had mine since mid May and love it. out of all the bikes I have ever owned, the majesty is the best one when it comes to a smooth, comfortable ride. I can't get enough ride time on it. I've got a little over 2500 miles on and not had one problem with it so far. Just the recall and Yamaha fixed that in 2 days. The color of mine is Candy Red. I know one thing it's a people magnet. They want to know the gas milage on, how fast it goes, what kind of storage it has(I like the under seat light that comes on when you lift the seat up), you don't get wet in light rain, the headlights are fantastic at night, I could just keep on and on about it. Believe me it will grow on you real quick.
Ride safe, keep on Scootn'.

Monty; Great news! Sounds like a long-term keeper from all I have read. Certainly is unique. You know, if we are going to stand out as a scooter rider, might as well really go for it!

monty57 and scooterlizard,
both of you are talking about a 400cc I would guess, that is the only Majesty offered now?

Thanks for all the positive replies. and yes, I am very excited. I have to travel this week on the job but hope to get in some riding next weekend. The best part is so far my wife love the ride. I ordered the trunk and backrest and it should be here Friday. I will post some pics ASAP and post the progress of the break-in period.

Monty,
Congrats on a beautiful new ride. There is no doubt that you will have a great time with it. My girl called my new 400 "beautiful" and she doesn't even like motorcycles. Yours is too. There is something about Maxi-Scoots! The girls love 'em. Good for you.
Cheers,
SiestaRandy

Thanks, I am really excited about the new scoot. Unfortunately as I have said many times I travel with my job and had to leave her at home with only 12 miles on her. As far as the girls.... Well, at my age there was only one I was worried about. My wife has not liked one of the my two vehicles since I sold our Goldwing. She has said noneof the "queen seats" fit her "queen butt". I took her for a very short ride Sunday and she said it fell pretty good. I am waiting for the trunk and back rest to come in at the dealer. I hoping this will be the finishing touches to make it comfortable for her. It a lot easier to say "we need to go for ride" than "I'm going for ride" when you are only home two days a week.

that is one thing that I have notice about the majesty is the wide passenger seat. most street bikes that I owned had tailbone killers for passenger seats. Oh, Geico also insures the passenger as well. Got a real good insurance deal with them.

Took it out yesterday on some two lane back roads to start the break-in process. The book said keep it under 4000rpm for 600 miles but unless you have a very large parking lot you can commandeer for days I don't know how that would be possible. I have reverted back to way I broken in almost every bike/scoot/four-wheeler so-far. Take it easy, vary the speed and avoid full throttle. All have performed admirably for many many miles after the process.
I put about 150 miles on it and it was great. Very smooth, very quiet and great ride. Longest time I have spent in the saddle for some time but no bad affects. I have notice similar sounds from the front area as I did on my Roadrunner but not nearly as pronounced. I am beginning to think it is the product of all the plastic amplify mechanical/road noises. I think the difference between to two is the Yamaha fit and mounting are much better with rubber isolation mounts, etc. I think that is why the Roadrunner was so much louder. The body parts were connected directly to the metal with no isolation washers or mounts.
Anyway I am enjoying the new scoot and hope to have enough miles on it by the week end to see how it does two up with my wife. I will keep you posted.

Hey Monty57,
That's how I broke mine, no parking lots here, 85% of the county is nothing but trees and only 5 roads go through the entire county. There is only 3 traffic lights in the county as well.

scooterlizard,
Am I right in assuming that is your scoot. It looks great and I love the red. If so, is there and forward/backward adjustment on the trunk mount? It looks like it will work well for my wife. She does not like the backrests on most motorcycles. Our last bike was a Midnight Virago. It had a factory backrest but it was really short and she thought it was very uncormfortable. I adjusted the trunk on the Roadrunner and she liked that.
Also I just noticed the heading picture. Great pic and the scoot looks good too. I need to observe more and write less I guess.

The trunk mount is stationary, but the driver's seat is adjustable if you have to give momma a little more seat. Ya just have to work out the kinks and give it time to grow on ya. Scooterlizard

I haven't had a chance to put an extra body on the tail. But it will keep up with the interstate traffic and then some with my 150lb. butt on it. It definitely has some hiney to it. Scooterlizard

Great looking bikes, guys.
I'll be joining the Majesty ranks next week. My silver 2007 came in to the shop yesterday and is being prepped at this time. The dealer is taking care of the wiring harness service bulletin and the fuel pump seal recall before I pick it up.
Lookin' forward to a bit more speed and power.
majestyusa.com is a great Majesty forum. They've been having some problems with their server so if you don't connect, check back from time to time.

I have ridden a couple of times two with my wife and even though I have not received the trunk and backrest she says it is comfortable. She actually ask me to take her to the store on it yesterday. Amazing! I'm still breaking it in but it seems like it will have more than enough power and weight to make it on the interstate. That is one of the reasons I purchased it. Only 256miles on it so far so I don't want to take a ride at sustained highway speeds yet but I have ventured above 70mph for a short time and there still lots of throttle left.

Hey Monty,
The Majesty does have that magical effect on people, even the ones that don't ride, mine has become a people magnet. Well i'm glad the queen likes her new throne. Good for you.
