I thought I read somewhere changing the belt at 5000km would be a good idea? Is that right? I'm at 2800km now.
Also, how long are the brake pads and rotors supposed to last? My rear one is squeaking every time I brake...

On my Honda 250 Elite the manual recommends changing the belt every 12,000 miles. Being the cheapskate I am, mine lost a few teeth at 20,000 miles and was replaced. The 2nd belt lasted 24,000 miles before shredding.

My rear one is squeaking every time I brake... The squeak doesn't neccessarily mean the pads are worn out, that would be a harsh metal to metal grinding noise. Disc brakes just are noisy sometimes, normally, with the new metallic pad material.

Since the beginning of time, disc brakes have been plagued by squeaks. Mine will make a squeaking noise when I just push it out of the garage. Some types of pads (composition) will squeak more than others. If the squeak is not excessive and only at the end of your stop, don't worry about it. If the noise really bothers you, replace the pads with a decent brand. Don't ask me what because I have never had to buy scoot pads. How long will the pads last? No way of really knowing! Depends on the quality of the pads as well as how you drive. On the same type of vehicle, some folks never seem to need pad replacement while others will need frequent replacement.
The Bando brand belt on my CFMoto powered Bali 250 now has 2.2K Kms and looks great - very little dust from wear and no signs of deterioration. I would expect at least a few more thousand Kms from what I saw. Get a good quality replacement and either put it on or keep it as a spare.

My rear drum brakes are just now really seated at 3300 miles, should go a long way yet. I know some riders that would have the brakes worn out and the tires slick at that mileage. Riding habits have a lot to do with how long stuff lasts.

Thanks for the replies! I have some traffic lights to deal with but nothing too bad. I know the pads on my car last about 25K miles, so I figured the scooter ones shouldn't go bad after only a few thousand kms (especially the rear ones).

Take care of things and you have a good chance you'll get good results.
