Morphous is one sweet scooter. I hate to admit it, but what difference in the ride between our 250 and yamaha 250cc. Whether it is worth twice as much $$$ is a different story.

When i joined this board there were some who bashed the Morphous Things have changed since then I am glad i have a Morphous. I still think the Morpheus is very strange looking apparition, but not quite as ugly as the Helix ....and now I own one . I don't really mind, though, because any time I've seen a Helix on the road it's made me look twice because they're so strange looking. Never seen a Morpheus on the road, yet. Closest I got to that was seeing one in a parking lot once... and people were looking at it!

When i joined this board there were some who bashed the Morphous Things have changed since then I am glad i have a Morphous. I don't quite get the Morphous. I'm afraid I have to put it in the butt-ugly category. I guess in their effort to make it low they decided the body had to look like a snowmobile up front. The rear reminds me of late model Cadillac tail lights. Is there any of storage in the front end?

Here's an old article on Scooter Scoop, that compares the yamaha morph and the Helix side by side. Different companies, but it certainly looks like Helix styling could have been the inspiration/precursor to the Yamaha Morpheus styling. Did you for get to attach it?

When I bought my Helix in 1988 I thought it was ugly. On the other hand it had so many admirable qualities that outweighed the appearance. I kept waiting for Honda to restyle it. When I saw the Morphous I saw it as an updated Helix. In some ways I was disappointed. Once I got used to it, I started to appreciate it for its own qualities. thescooterscoop.blogspot.com/2005/09/honda-helix-defends-its-title-against.html

Did you for get to attach it? Yup, I did. I went back and added it. Same one as Warstein dug up! Thanx to both of you!

After 670 miles. We have decided against importing this model. Other than the problems I have mentioned thus far, we have also discovered a mis-alignment problem that seems to worsen over time. Making the scooter unsave to ride at high speed. There are simply too many problems to correct to make us feel comfortable offering to the public. I would not feel comfortable riding this scooter, especially safety wise, so we won't offer this scooter to our buyers.

Wow, after all the rigorous testing- I was surprised (yet impressed) with Flyscooter's decision. Unexpected, but it shows us that Flyscooters will only bring us the best. That let's me rest assured. It feels very grass roots. Can't wait to watch the unfolding of testing the next candidate!

I guess I'll pick up the spear tossed at my feet and begin an entire diatribe starting upon my receipt of the Roketa Roadster SE 250 I have ordered down here to Key West. Do not fear, there will be plenty of bikini pics and detailed notes as to the positives and negatives of the project.
KW is a real "scooter town" so there will be traffic testing and high speed testing when I ride "up the Keys".
Stay tuned race fans!

FlyScooter
I checked the 'Break In" specs on this motor and drivetrain and it recommended not over 40 km/h for the first 350 km, not over 50 for the next 300 km and not over 60 km/h until you get 1000 km on the bike.
Do you think maybe you pushed it a little?

We are big fans of a hard break in with frequent oil changes...often referred too as the MotoMan method. For the members who have used it it has proven to be a good break in.
Leon Kudos for the honesty and keeping your customers best interests in mind. The right one will present itself soon.

In my opinion, no one really take heed of the break in period in the owner's manual. I wanted to simulate a real world environment instead of one that's ideal. I rode it hard from day one because I have seen how people pull their brand new scooters off dealer lots. You can tell them a 1000 times to take it easy, but they won't, just like I won't. You want to see what this puppy can do. Also, the problems that we faced was not associated with the engine, but everything around it. The exhaust pipe crack at around 500 miles. The front rattles like a hand held massage machine. The rear shock, when we decompress it, bounced back at an angle, possibly bad swing arm. If this scooter never goes above 65mph, I wouldn't be worried. But at around 80mph, which is how fast LA traffic moves on the highway, it is way too dangerous. People by 250cc because they want to ride freeway. So it has to be freeway ready. I am very disappointed too. I hope Paradise 250cc has a better experience than we did. I will keep looking. I know better now what I want in a 250cc, so next time we don't have to start from square one. So it is not all for nothing.
Good luck guys. Let's share more bikini photos...

Leon
It is great to see that you have standards and you are willing to keep them. You have made many a good impressions with that one decision. You'll find the one you are satisfied with soon enough. Besides, it has to be fun testing them!

Interesting. Any reason why you discontinued the El Capitan? I have over 3000km on mine now. Still going strong so far...
