I am new to scootering and was wandering about the Roadster 250 touring scooter? I just purchased one from All New Sports on the internet and wandering if anyone knows anything about this scooter, if its dependable, kind of condition it came in, if had a while, if you have done a lot of maintenance work on it? I have been searching the forums for info on this bike but havent seen a lot of topics about this bike. Any information about this scooter or company would be greatly appreciated. My scooter should be here by the end of the week, and cant wait, have been looking forward to having a scooter for some time now.
Thank you

lubejob,
So far so good for me and this scooter, it is really fun to ride and is all need for the riding that I do. I use it for work and it has already started saving me money. There are a few things that you probably can count on going wrong with this scooter, the good thing though is that all seem to be minor and easily fixable.
First thing you need to do is see how the scooter runs between 45-55mph, if it starts to cut out, you can bet that the vacuum fuel pump is bad and you will need to replace it. Allnewsports will send you a replacement but I used an electronic fuel pump that i bought from Autozone as a more permanent fix. Also have noticed that my scooter does charge ok but it is not really enough to keep up with what it uses. I suggest buying a slightly larger battery or you will probably have to charge the battery overnight periodically to keep yourself from getting stuck with a dead battery on the road. Other than those few things my scooter runs well is cool to look at and is a lot of fun. The only thing that I don't like about the scooter is the seat is really hard, but it seems to be getting softer or my a$s is getting harder and more used to the seat. If you have any specific questions get back to me and I will more than happy to try and help.
Also had to replace the fuel tank once I got it due to a leak in the seam of the gas tank. Manufacturing problem... I guess, but allnewsports was very quick to send me a replacement.
Also, be sure to check everything over good when you get the scoot, including bolts for tightness, air pressure in the tires, fluid leaks and wire connections etc..
Peace

Thank you Kibdog, I have been reading your previous posts and it had helped out a lot. I ordered my scooter last Wednesday and called them on Thursday they said it would be shipped out that day and would get a tracking number on Friday or Monday...... so hopefully I get the tracking number today. How long was it before you got your paperwork, because I never read in your posts what day it finnaly showed up? Thanks for all the help

They mail out your paperwork 3-5 days after they confirm that the shipment was received with the shipping company, so let's see..... I got my scoot May 30th and received my title work on Jun 8th I believe, approx. 8 to 9 day turn around. Not bad nut those 8-9 days seem like an eternity when your dying to ride.

It is the same scooter as the MC54 that we carry by Roketa. Nice machine, have sold a bunch of them and everybody seems to be happy with them.

It is the same scooter as the MC54 that we carry by Roketa. Nice machine, have sold a bunch of them and everybody seems to be happy with them. How has the reliability been so far? You mentioned some time ago that roketa was addressing the parts availability problems. Has this shown to be true? Why do the MC54s have different warranty periods depending on where you buy them. Shouldn't it be the same if I buy it from you or your competitor? Thanks

Actually, I finally located a local repair shop. They happened to have a Bali in for repair. It was bigger than I had thought from the photos, and I fit fine in it. I imagine the Roadster 250 is a slightly larger bike, so I think it will be O.K.

O.K. Yes, I'm a little pumped, and a lot nerdy, so I put it on several threads that I've been communicating on the last few weeks. Sorry if it's overkill.
