Just broke the 2000km last night Anything I should look into? Fluids (gear, engine oil) obviously have been changed. Have been riding the scoot consistently for four days a week now; about 60km/day. Great gas and car saver I do drive my car once a week just to have it not sit too long and as my Friday treat Scoot on!

Hey luciano136 We are right up there with ya. 2495 Km. Seen posts about checking the V-belt so I will do that at my next oil/gear grease change. doing 5 days a week to work, plus some weekend rides with the kids and friends and family who may be getting the scooter itch!! ;D Joe (buckeyescoot)

Hey Joe,
Great to hear!! Yeah, I figured checking the belt should be about the only thing so far. I should also flush the coolant sometime soon, although it seems to stay cool just fine.
Definitely now that it's getting warm, it's quite fun to scoot around! ;D

Me too. I'm at about 2300 km with the Viva. Back and forth to work most days, running errands, and a few joy rides down to the beach. The scooter is running perfectly, except the charging system isn't charging. Gary

Hey Gary,
Did you get the charging problem resolved? So, I guess the battery is not the problem. Is there some kind of alternator in those scoots?

Luciano, I haven't tried anything new on the charging system in several weeks. The battery is not the problem; it charges just fine overnight on a trickle charger. Voltage across the battery terminals is 12.4 volts whether the engine is running or not. That tells me the charging system is not doing what it is supposed to. Allnewsports has said they'd send me a replacement stator, but I haven't seen it yet.
So, for now I'm living with the problem. I've already gone 60 miles or so on a single charge of the Yuasa battery with multiple starts and stops of the engine. That's enough range for me. For a while I carried a second battery around as a spare, but I've stopped doing that. I do carry a small set of jumper cables, just in case. It will be interesting to see how long the battery lasts under this operating scenario. Gary
