Did an inspection of the CVT belt on my Roketa Bali 250 CFMoto powered scoot this morning. Have 2,100 Kms on the scoot and haven't pulled the cover since the first few hundred Kms. The belt is a "Bando" brand and looks great. No evidence of excess wear or cracking. Only a thin layer of belt dust inside. Brushed and blew it out. Also blew air into the clutch. Only a small amount of belt dust came out. After reading some of the posts, thought it was time for an inspection.

Dusting is pretty normal and I would expect the belt to go 3-5000KM, but since there is no rhyme or reason to the life of the belt, keep a spare on hand. Heat is what kills the rubber, so if your CVT is running fairly cool, you should get better life from the belt. The 150's seem to run very hot at the CVT but they are also using better OEM belts than they did a while back. If you have done the "no tool" belt change, you could theoretically do a belt swap on a 250 pretty easily along side the road since the cover only has 2 bolts. I'd rather do it in the shop, but it is a possibility to do it on the road. Stan Did an inspection of the CVT belt on my Roketa Bali 250 CFMoto powered scoot this morning. Stan; Have you tried changing the belt on your TT250 the "no tool" way? While inspecting things today, I tried to squeeze the clutch open and it wouldn't budge. Spring must be pretty stiff!

I haven't tried it on a 250 yet, but I'll see if it's possible the next time I open the CVT. It may not work on these because of the design difference. It might become a four handed job, but I'll see. I may try the RoadRunner first since I just got a Kevlar belt for it and I want to check on the rollers anyway.
