Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. My People 250 with the weird verticle license plate holes and the horizontal license plate caught the attention of a cop 11:00pm tonight. 2 cop cars total, lol. Anyways they just suggested a few things about what I could do to keep it from falling off(since it's hanging on by one screw). But they seemed to be really impressed by the Kymco brand and style. They never heard or seen anything like it, and asked if it was a motorcycle or a scooter. I showed them the huge cargo room under the seat and the trunk, and they joked about how someone could store a load of pot in there and no one would suspect a thing...They were nice about it all, didn't even ask for id or anything. Just thought it was cool to get some more attention for the scooter community...

Hey Ashley, Did your dealer not give you a bracket for your license plate? You could always punch or drill a hole in the center of the plate to mount it properly. On another note, I have seen way too many custom choppers with verticle mounted plates, and they are never pulled over. Sounds fishie to me. Tom

Harley has a new Sportster that has the license mounted on the side on a flip out panel so it can face the side or rear. It also has no center tail light. Instead it has the rear directionals do triple duty as tail lights, stop lights, and directionals. How they got that past the Feds I'll never know.

Ashley, I had to adapt mine original setup to accept American plates, I got what I needed from Pepboys and Walmart. I got pulled over last year on the loop 202 freeway because the officer "thought" I was too small to be on the freeway, he found out that he was wrong and "no harm, no foul". I was doing 70mph when he got me, at first I thought" great speeding ticket with cars around me doing at least 75mph". But he just wanted to question the size of my manhood all 257cc of it.

"2 cop cars total, lol." Well of course, you were such a flight risk.

Ashley, have you attracted any more attention? Automattic, Nice frame, I wish mine came with that bracket! Wendell, got to love those Phoenix PDs. I asked about 10 of them where does the Bee Line Officially start, and none of them could tell me. On top of that there were about 3 of them ready to site me for driving my Xciting 500 on a motorcycle permit! Most of them seem to be kinda clueless, and the sheriff too. Sigh.... Tom

No more attention from the cops, but I've had a few people love the scooter though, on the road. I had a guy on a white 3-wheeled honda goldwing, with his wife following him on her Burgeman 250, they both waved and he gave me the "ok" sign, as if he loved the scooter. When my brother bought the scooter from the dealership, it didn't come with the adapter bracket, but I'll call them someday and order one I guess. No big deal.
