It's official my first real breakdown

Well, It was bound to happen sometime. Monday I was riding to work and all of a sudden NO THROTTLE, on the I10 freeway no doubt, it happened at 4:30am, so traffic was light, I waited until 6 to start calling friends and family for help. My sister was the only one who answered, she got me a tow truck ($80.00 total). Later I tore into it and found that I broke the bracket that attached to the carb. and holds the throttle cable. I guess I ride my scooter so fast and hard for so long that I break the cheap stuff. I was able to do a alternative engineering fix and now I'm back on the road. Called Jim and as soon as he gets a real bracket hell send me one, also I think I'll take the bracket to work and see about making a new one if I get the time and machine shop resources. ;D

Glad you were able to get her up and running with some creative engineering Wendell. I hope you can engineer a permanent fix for it. How many miles do you have on it now?

Aaron, I have about 7800Km on her now, about 90% of that is fast freeway driving.

Andi, I did send Dobie a personal message about the Fluids Etc, didn't here anything back from him, if it did him any good, I did my homework on scooter drive trains that's why I bought a YP250 clone, so far Yamaha parts fit(if I can get them),and 257cc vs 244cc was the final thing that made me choose. I'm hoping soon Jim will make the 290cc kits available. The heat here maybe a big issue though. I'm the perfect Bandit product tester!

I'm still trying to decide which 250 I will go with. I'm wondering how stable your Bandit is at faster speeds.

I haven't fallen off yet! seems pretty stable, there is a vibration at higher speeds but that seems to be from pushing the engine. I did replace the windshield because it would bend back about 65mph, I did a post on it but it has been a blast to ride.
