Yeah, I realize the earbuds would work perfectly, but I just thought it would be nice to have something a lot of people don't have or see. The CFMoto V3 and V5 have sound systems on them. I've heard them in the shop cranked all the way up and it is VERY loud...however because of the windnoise, you can't hear them over 45 mph. Plus I like to showoff. No rap music here either...mostly techno/darkwave.

Ashley,
I think you can use Boat speaker for that all weather thing, I saw a pic of a guy who put a big system in his YP250, Big speaker under the seat.

.... Some guys from work will tell me to get a "real" bike, but then they say that I've probably got more sense than any of them.... You gotta admire that kind of honesty.

I am getting questions all the time. Stopped at a light to get on the interstate, car next to me rolls down the window and shouts out "what kind of milage", flip open the helmet shout out "67 mpg", light turns green and I'm off. Friday, I was at a place for lunch. Sit down next to a group of guys and immediately start fielding questions from them. I spot a Goldwing pull up. An older "respectable" gentleman gets off, walks inside and spots me as the scooterist and starts chatting with me. Now here is this scene in vivid detail- I am the white guy with the pony tail who is probably some kinda hippie, chatting with a group of black men who seem to all be on some sort of work crew, and the 60+ gray haired comes in and starts chatting with me. The GW guy asks me about the milage I get and tells me he gets about half that and has been thinking about getting a scoot. He compliments me on the style of it and walks off. I tell the other guys about the nearby scooter shop and head out the door. Stop by to look over the Goldwing and think, "a gentleman like him deserves a nice ride like this, but it does look kinda heavy". So yeah anyway, scooters cause strange social dynamics to occur. The conversations sound like fun, but do you tell them how long your tires last? Total cost to replace 2? Do they know how often you change your fluids? Just curious.

I just priced Pirelli tires and total price for 2 installed about $120.00, I have 7700km on my so far and the tread still looks prettty good, I've have 7 fluid changes (oils) at $15 each. I just put new tires on my truck at $600 and tranny service( I did the work) $30.00. I keep up with the maintenance myself and I save a lot.

Aside from my inability to notice that the odometer reads in "km" and not miles, I've had lots of people praise me for my measley $4.50 fill ups with 93 oct. I've also noticed that other scoot riders just amble up to you and shoot the breeze...I finished running yesterday and an older fellow (proud owner of a Piaggio BV 500) came up and just struck up a conversation about scooting, gas mileage, storage space, etc.
Not very keen on fuddling with an iPod while riding. Takes away the enjoyment of the ride. I'm still marveling how the big bugs don't splatter over my faceshield anymore.
I'd say I average at least one person per day asking about the People. A gas station attendant asked about it today, for cryin' out loud!!! He probably wanted to vex me because I won't be buying as much gas from him as often as that owner of the Nissan Pathfinder Armada ;D
I've finally gotten around to riding the Corolla because it rained. Poor thing. It gets 32+mpg, and now it's the damned gas guzzler!!! Maybe I should sell it to pay off the People and get the Italkit 300cc.............................

The other day I was at the stop light and a SUV with a load of teenagers pulled up along side and yelled in unison "that's gay". Hmmm...they'll soon learn the value when mommy and daddy stop buying the gas.
I use to own a 1979 Dodge Colt 2-dr hatchback with 1500 cc engine that routinely got 34 mpg in town and 40 - 41 on the highway. Drove it for 10 years. Hybrids??? I say bring back the Dodge Colt.

Bobpt,
When those little crapheads go to college, they'll might be riding "gay". Before my transfer at work to the Scottsdale location, I was at the Tempe site(college town), sure see lots of scooters usually 150s around there. And I've had college girls tell me my scoots cute.

I'm still young(23) and would love for a van full of teenagers to pull up to me and say something. I'd get off the bike and start pounding...well, maybe. Young kids just don't understand riding nowadays. Which also makes me think about how this country's culture is involved. We Americans love bigger, badder, louder things. Especially in the south. Scooters are the antesesis(spelling?) of these things in general. That's ok, I've got better things to spend my usual $50 a week on than gas.
