I bought a bicycle speedometer for my scoot, but it turns out the wire between the pickup and the readout is too short. Is there any problem with cutting the wire and splicing in extra lenght? The wire is pretty thin, but I assume there are two conducters in there somewhere and that they can be separated and spliced. Thanks!

Sure no problem. But it may be wise to carefully cut into the outer insulator first to gain access to the two wires, just in case the two wires have the same color insulation on them. You can add as much wire as you like.

Thanks guys. In the meantime I found that they sell a sensor bracket with a 48" cable on it for only $5 (pus shipping) so I went for that. I may be able to use the mount with the short cable on my 150.
By the way, the computer I got is a Sigma Sports model BC1106. I like it because it indicates what mode it is displaying with words like "Total Distance," Trip Time," etc, instead of dumb little icons that I can't see let alone understand.....
