Well I'm pretty excited I'm about to buy my first scooter...
Test drove a Roketa Bali 250 today.
It was much faster than I expected. woooohahaha
So they didn't have a Bali 150 for me to test drive.... From what I've researched it seems that no one knows the actual MPG, maybe that is because the odometer reads in kilometers. Everyone seems to have a different opinion...
So here's my question...
Is the power a huge difference between a Roketa Bali 150 and Roketa Bali 250? The 250 really goes...
And does anyone know the actual MPG differences?
thanks...

Welcome to the Dawg Pound!
The Bali style scoot is a heavier bike than some of the other styles. A 150 in that body will be satisfactory but not as peppy as a 150 in a smaller, lighter bodied scoot. The answer somewhat depends on how/where you wish to ride. IMHO, a 250 is better for roads where traffic will be doing 50 - 60 mph because it still has some reserve at those speeds. Personally, I like the power of a 250!
As far as mpg goes, around 60 mpg for a 250 and 80 mpg for a 150 is ballpark. You will see other figures quoted but if you don't expect the extremes, you won't be disappointed.
I have had a 150 in the Fiji style and now have a Bali 250. There is considerable difference in size and weight between the Fiji and Bali.

Welcome to the Forum! I have the Bali 150. It is a reliable machine but it needs more power and to that end I have done several mods to it including the Dr. Pulley variator. If cash is not your motivator then get the 250 you will be glad you did.

WOW thanks for the quick responses this is exactly what I was looking for... I'd love to have two for fun, but have to decide on one for now... So I'll go with the 250... And I'd love to get 80 mpg, but I can settle for 60 mpg... Beats my Dodge Durango at 10 mpg... I just got a new job 2.5 miles from my house.... oh yeah... Beats the 25 mile commute I use to do, in stop and go traffic for an hour and a half each way.... whoa... Its all back roads to the new job, highest speed maybe 30.... Knowing me, I'll probably break the law on the way to work... Texas is a fun place to do that... <grin> But for fun, I might take it on the weekends on some hills... I'm about 200 lbs so, I'll probably want the 250 for hills.... Thanks for the responses... I've Googled the entire web for a non-bias and honest scooter forum... This appears to be the best place... Thanks again, I'll post some pics when I get the new scooter... no1uknow

You got it right about the ScootDawg forum! I think you will be pleased with the 250. Mine currently has about 1,200 miles on it. Have had it since June of last year. I can feel the difference in performance as it is breaking in. I rarely run the 50-60 mph roads but have a good bit of hills. Just like the feeling of power when I twist the throttle. Truth is, we could probably get better gas mileage if we were a little easier on the throttle! The CFMoto 250 is almost twice the horsepower of the usual GY6 150.

I don't know how the Tanks compare to the scoot you are considering but I do believe they have the same engines. I test drove both a 150 and a 250. I felt 150 just did not have enough power, espeicially if you ever ride double. That test convinced me to spend a little more and give up some MPG and have the added power when I need it. I also think the 250 seem a little smoother and difinately has great pick-up. Go for the 250 I don't think you will regret it. I

Yeah I think after a year I might try and move up to the Kymco Xciting 500...
I'm sure I'll be carrying some extra riders, so extremely good point there, 250 is a must...
But you have to ask yourself, if you keep moving up in scooters, when does a scooter become a motorcycle???
I could definitely see my self collecting scooters, especially some these vintage looking scooters... very cool stuff... guess I found a new hobby as well....

I have more than 50 years experience. I have owned motocycles and scooters running from 50cc to 800cc. My favorites always have been 250cc. I find it is the best size for all around use. It can handle highways and city. Although you may desire a bigger one at some point, I think you will not really outgrow it.

I have been riding since I was 13 and have driven scooters all the way up to a Honda Goldwing. My last motorcycle was about 6 years ago and it was 650 Virago. I think I am beginning to feel like warstein. The 250cc seem to offer the best of all worlds. Good power, good economy, great top speed and still very nimble. I think you will be satisfied for some time.
