I have an 85 Honda Elite 250 that just won "Best Plastic" scoot at WKRP. I can't believe so many "touring" scoots are made without a stereo. Why the dearth of stereo equipped 250cc scoots 22 years later?

IMHO I think many ride to gain peace of mind. They try to purge themselves of the everyday noise and troubles thus no radio news or anything else to upset yourself. Just the Karma of the ride so to speak. Riders and their bikes..."it's all about the ride".

I agree w/Charlie. I enjoy the peace and quiet of the ride. Plenty of time to fill my space with noise around the house.
Also, I think most of the Chinese 250 scoots are not that quiet. With a radio and the proper speakers, you would be producing quite a bit of noise going down the road at speed. Perhaps the larger displacement cruisin scoots are quieter at speed and a radio could be used with them without too high a volume setting.

I had a 87 Helix. Ordered it with the radio. I soon decided the radio was more novelty than a useful accessory. I don't even play the radio in my car. I must be getting old.

If you really want some type of radio. I sell a headset that is wireless and has an FM tuner in it PLUS its bluetooth capable so you can answer your phone without taking your hands of the handlebars. Its made by a company called Cardo. If anyone wants info on this I would be happy to email it or fax something to you. Its a great device and will attach to any helmet.

I am using a Cardo Scala Rider in my KBC front flip helmet. It is not the one with the two speakers in it as hyproscooters is offering, but it is the single speaker version. It works better than my Plantronics headset that I normally walk around with, and in fact my family tells me that they can not tell that I am even riding my scooter locally (up to 50mph tested so far) when using it. It has very nice loud audio. It installs in a couple of mins, and it is easy to do. I will not replace my Plantronics if it is lost unless it is with another Cardo. At present I also use a set of helmet speakers in my helmet for music, and I find that I can listen to music, and talk on the phone well, but it is not perfect since I have to share speaker space with the Scala & music speaker. In other words, the setup Hyproscooters is offering is the perfect solution, I'll stick with what I have for now till I can upgrade later on down the road. Tom
