I'm looking at purchasing a 2006 Bet & Win 250. Does anyone have any experience and comments regarding performance and handling? I'll be using it for routine urban commuting and occassional non-touring highway use.

We have the kymco Grand vista 250 and we are very happy with it .The bet&win has the same engine so they are pretty close .I have had the Grand vista up to 83 mph maxed out!! It will cruise at 65 to 70 mph with no problem even up hills it will hold 65 fairly easy and I wiegh 190 lbs I am very impressed with the 250's performance!!!! I just bought a suzuki burgman 400 and believe it or not the grand vista is close to the same on acceleration up to about 50 mph and then the 400 starts slowly pulling away . I think any of the kymco 250's will meet and exceed most peoples needs unless you are going to run on an interstate .Just a side note I think the Daelim s250 is the best bang for the buck if you are buying new 250cc scooter .We got the grand vista for $2000 used so I couldt pass it up ;D

Hi jwinri. I have a Daelim S2 250, which has the engine as the 250cc Bet & Win and Grand Vista (Daelim procures this engine from Kymco). I can't speak to its handling, but the published dry weights of the S2/B&W are within 6 lbs, so perhaps it would be meaningful to tell you that the engine performance of my scoot is quite satisfying. Scooter speedometers being what they are (read: inaccurate), I can't give a precise top speed. However after running some pacing experiments with an automobile to get an error approximation, I believe my scoot is good for about 75 to 77 mph (about 88 mph indicated on the speedo) hauling my 6'2", 220lb frame.
Bet & Win is a great scooter. If you like the look, feel, and price, it's hard to go wrong with one. Be sure to sit on one before buying, though, as they can be a little cramped for some taller riders.
Good luck!

I ran my Burger400 against a guy on a GrandVista250, and you're right, they were exact equal in acceleration to about 50mph, then I could start pulling up on the GV250. The Kymco 250s seem well built. They run fine. We have a good local dealer, and if I were to lose my B400, that's what I'd probably get.
