As Dawg stated I seem to be the only Grand (Dink) Vista 250 rider here, I do like the name Dink. So I will let you know what I think of it.
I owned a People 150 for 4 years and loved it. The only problem was it is somewhat under powered and uncomfortable for two up
riding at least for any distance. Also of course I just wanted a bigger scooter.
This difference between the P150 and Dink is like going from a volkswagon to a caddy. The ride on the Dink
is just incredibly comfortable. I was a little concerned about the difference between the 16 inch wheels on the P150 and
the 12 wheels on the Dink. Thought the smaller wheels would be a problem at higher speeds, But this is not true. I have had
The Dink on the hiway a few times. Cruises nicely at 65 GPS with some throttle left. 65 is as fast as I want to go on two wheels,
well maby a little faster than I want to go.
Also the smaller wheels make the Dink a little quicker acting especially at lower speeds.
I did not like the stock windshield. It channelled the air flow right up under the shield of my open face helmet, not only uncomfortable
but caused a lot of wind noise. It seems to be more cosmetic than usefull.
The Dink also has the same ignition switch as the XC. ie it opens the under seat storage and the gas
cap. Under seat storage is large, I fit a openface helmet along with gloves, toolkit and other junk with no problem. They say it will take a
full face helmet but I do not know. Under seat storage also has interior light, cell phone holder and 12v jack.
The scooter also has electric folding mirrors, this may sound like a gimmick, but when loading this bike on the back of my motordom this feature
really comes in handy. The mirrors themselves take a little getting used to, as they are under the handlebars. You have to look down at them
and the view is under your arms. They give a good rear view but like I say take a little adjustment.
I ride this bike to work, only about 4 miles, but I am a baker and go to work at 12:30 am. I find that the head light on the Dink is
much brighter than on the P150. I feel very comfortable at night, though I ride much slower as I live in a very rual area with open range
cattle grazing.
Like any Kymco this bike is well enginnered and well put together. I only have 500 miles on this new bike. But I put 5000 on the P150 and never had a single problem with it. It has disk brakes front and back, only one disk in the front as opposed to the two on the XC250. But this bike has great stopping power. I have been practicing panic stops from about 50 mph and am impressed the the stopping ability and the stability of the bike . In a streight line this bike as no tendancy to skid with the back wheel locked up.
Also this bike is very stable in the wind have ridden it on freeway with 30 mile crosswinds, not by choice, and found it very easy to controll.
Add ons:
GIVI windshield: for me a absoulte must makes riding a pleasure. As for top speed, like I said 65 is my top speed and the windshield does not seem to effect this.
GIVI E450 45L top box. Amazing amount of room. I use this bike as my extra vechile when in the motorhome so wanted pleanty of room
for groceries ect. The box has stop light and back rest. I Like the idea of a elevated brake light. The scooter has a back rest on the seat. The way the
topbox has to be mounted the backrest on the box is only helpfull if the passanger leans back quite a bit.
KYMCO touring seat. has a much deeper seat and higher backrest that the stock seat. But to be honest got it because I liked the way it looked.
AIR HAWK seat cushion. Let me state that I am 61 years old and my butt does not like anything hard!! The air hawk is pricy but makes all
the difference on a long or even a short ride.
All in All the machine is perfect for me the add ons are not needed, except the windshield, but just make for a better ride.
Expect that I will have this one for a while. As a 500cc is more than my wife will let me have LOL.
Tried to cover as much as I could think of am more than will to answer any other questions.
