bigal; Welcome to the "Dawg Pound"! Any links to the scoots? Anyone can buy from an importer and put their own "brand" name on the scoot. I did find a link: www.motortoyshop.com/I-Touring250.htmlLooks like the standard TT/Roketa Bali/Etc. 250 scoot. These have the CFMoto engine (reliable) and could be assembled by many different Chinese companies. Be interesting to know which importer they buy from - possibly Roketa. My Roketa Bali 250 came just as described on the above website. Price is OK but you really have to be certain about the "dealer"! Unless you are prepared to accept total responsibility for trouble shooting and repair - including finding the parts - you could get burned. Many dealers say they have all the parts but really don't - they just pass on the orders to the importer from which they are buying. They don't even handle the bikes.

I talked to Rony at EVO sales when I bought the Tankster 250. He said they were in the process of "branding" their own scoot. I guess the RR is it. It probably is an updated scoot similar to the Tank, (it sure looks like the same body), but I do not know which Mfr. they went with. They will be happy to tell you, I'm sure. (There are DOZENS!) My feeling is that it probably has a lot of similarities to the Tank line of scoots, with a few more goodies added to the mix. My Tank has done well and is about the quality/value I had come to expect after reading here and other boards. scooterdog

I clicked the link that BigAl provided and that scooter appears to have a Linhai 257cc drive train. We've been trying to shoe-horn one of these into the same scooter model but it's not an easy task. I'd be curious if anyone has riding experience with this size of scooter with that specific engine... Thanks, Jim J... Bandit MotorSports www.bandit-motorsports.com

Looks just like the baron 250 SX, which has been out this past year. Should be a fast scoot! Shorter wheelbase and less weight than the other typical Chinese "Maxi" scoots.

Yes, the Baron 250-SX has been out since earlier this year. And I didn't realize it until I spoke to Lev about 2 mos ago that the Baron uses the Linhai 257cc drive train as well. He doesn't get them from our supplier of Taizhou Zhongneng Motorcycle but I forget which factory does build it. Zhongneng doesn't want to build them because they couldn't get rid of the extreme vibration from the engine, which I can believe given the size and weight of the SX scooter model. But still, I'd still like to see the final version and feel the vibration to judge for myself...

Gary Charpentier did a blog last year called Baron in Winter where he rode a 150sx through the Michigan winter. This year he bought a 250sx which he named scarlet 'obaron. If you look back at what he has written in his current blog you can get a feel for this scoot and some info. he seems to work sort of like a product tester for baron and if you look back through his archives he talks about acouple other models including the 250pm and the infamous Wussi hammer. Yeah baby gotta get one of those......uuhhh. Anyway, that's what I've seen on the web.

www.ridetowork.org/blog/ is the link I have in my favorites. It kind of looks like we are starting to see more of the Yamaha drivetrain with the larger rear wheel. You can look in the archives listed on the right side of the page. If you start from the beginning of those archives you'll kind of see his progression during the summer testing some of the other scooters as well as his other ride which is a KLR650(frogwing). Below the listed previous months there is another list of links which has some interesting stuff. Scooter in the sticks is pretty cool. I believe that baron in winter is archived in links as well. If not you can google it. Stu
